How’s the price for the diy cage compared to the 3/4 cages and solo?

This cage is 4k. Solid body mounts $425.00. That's what I paid

Last night's progress few more roof tubes and the A-pillar corner gussets. The gussets came prebent but not notched so excuse my butchery on the notch those took a while to tune in.

i know the cut a pc, bend it, cut, blah blah. but how do you get these notches in?!?!?!?!

On that corner gusset start by holding it in place marking your cut and this one I band saw first because its a long ass notch. Then tune it in with a flap disk. Test fit, grind, test fit, grind and repeat 20 times then done lol

so theres realy nothing to it except little by little take some off, test fit, take more off, test fit, repeat like 69k fucking times?
i always assumed people had a magic fucking notcher technique/band saw/chopsaw technique............

no? just fucking spend a day going back and forth from the corner where you want the toob to the grinder/table for about 69 fuckng hours.......... then, walah???

An Ameribrade belt grinder with smasll wheels makes those gussets way fast and less rips, more like 4.20 trips not 69k trips to get it to fit great.

Literally that's it. I don't fab full time so its rare I nail a notch on the first shot typically its 69k fucking times back and fourth.

You can wrap some paper around the notch and measure and mark it on the other side to rough it in and save some time on deep notches on straight tube - wouldn’t save time on a tight radius bend like those most likely though.
