First Gen DC TT Tacoma

Rolled outside so I could get on the cantilever rear shock setup on my f150. Once f150 is out I'll get the Tacoma back in the shop finish a few welds out back then assemble shocks onto the truck. After that's done ill spin truck around and get started on the engine cage, motor and trans mounts. Excited to fit the king kongs up front.

Ok back on the truck. Got motor and trans mounted up. Got steering figured out just need a few more parts final welded and inner tie rods double sheared.

Bronze bushings for pivots, PSC C10 steering box w/ ram and Nissan pathfinder steering gear transfer. I also switched to a 1" Outer heim to get a little more travel out of this truck. Tube through frame above driver swinger is to access the upper steering box bolt as its close to the frame and can get the bolt in due to length and angle. This is a kit that i will offer as a rack delete swing steering kit for these 1st gen tacos/3rd gen 4runners.

Motor and trans going back in so I can start on the engine cage and shock mounts after I do a little more clearance to achieve more travel since the truck has swing steering and getting 4.0s up front.

I'm just doing the fab work. Then Jack is gonna do exhaust driveshaft, wiring plumbing and that stuff.

Ok was double checking everything on the front end and I realized I had uca mounts welded onto the frame 3/8" too far back resulting in more caster than the kit wants. So I cut off the uca tabs, chopped front of frame off at lca mounts and cut outer factory stock bump mounts off the frame. Got the plates cut to box it all in and new uca tabs cut. Gonna get the frame plating in and uca tabs back on tomorrow.

Finished boxing in the frame. I cut the front of the frame off right where the uca front tab is so I made a new tab that went further down the side of the frame, which will have engine cage land onto it that goes up to front bumper.

Ok steering is done, besides gussets on steering tabs on knuckles. Just need to bolt it all back on.

Notched the frame for plenty of clearance to uca at full droop where uniball stops it, so full metal droop. Plus I carried same angle and made new UCA tabs to land on new angled frame.

Front end should be strapped at 20" travel with 10 up and 10 down so itll work awesome, once whole truck is tuned and shocks are dialed in. Tomorrow steering and engine back in, so I can confirm everything clears lock to lock bump to droop.

Made a kit so I can sell it other tacoma owners to ditch the rack. I got fixtures for everything and the plates drawing my my comp so I can reproduce it to resell. But yeah front steer would be easier but essentially the same thing just infront of the suspension not behind it, so no steering gear transfer, just would need a new firewall plate for steering shaft to the front box like traio gear makes for their SAS taco kits.

So what I’m reading is my truck needs this steering set up!

What im reading is you need to slide into my DMs. 4500 for badlines first kit discount will be 5500 for full kit box transfer u joints ram and hardware. Will take some grinding, welding and a little customizing to make it all fit. It should fit good but only done this and another one now so it should be pretty good.

Sweet need about $4400 more to go… should have in few years at this rate haha. Anyone need a kidney… do sperm banks still pay? Maybe a feet finder page hmm.

Sorry to derail the thread! Tommy you are a very skilled man 👍 killing it on this build as usual!!!
