Been noticing a little coolant leaking the last few drives. Determined the junkyard waterpump that came with the engine when i bought it finally shit the bed. Got a new Ac delco unit and instead of welding on the AN fitting for the cooling lines as i did in the past, i got the CBM press in fitting and got that installed last night.
For anyone trying to do this its pretty simple- Heat up the OEM fitting and hit it with a hammer/chisel to get it to break free. GM uses a type of hard sealant on them that can be a bitch to get loose.
Then i heated up the new pump outlet, threw the CBM adapter in the freezer for an hour, Lined them up on the pump and a few hits with a rubber deadblow and it seated in perfectly.
Here is a link to the fitting i used- They have long and short ones as well as various AN sizes. I run -20.
