I decided at the beginning of this year I wanted to build a "cheap" fun truck to go try my hand at racing. Found a 400$ running driving truck that was a theft recovery. It's been sitting in my back yard for 7 months and now that I've collected 90% of the parts it's time to start building it. Main goal is to build the truck to finish races not necessary win just yet. Its a 94 with a 2.3 that will get swapped to something a bit bigger once it blows up. Got bored and swapped the deavers in to make more room in the garage. Waiting to finish a project at a friend's shop so I can park this in it's place and start going to town.

What's the plan for the motor swap once the 2.3 let's go. It sounds like the explorer 5.0 is the easiest to do for a V8 but a LS might be easier to make more power with.

That I'm not 100% sure on yet. Might just be a warmed over 4.0 or a very mild 5.0. Not looking to make big power. Trying to keep it as reliable as possible and more power =broken parts

Finally got it to pass smog so it can be registered cause street legal race truck. Threw the one piece on for fun. Hopefully the last few parts show up soon so I can actually start getting after it. Trying to have it together enough for the December MORE race to take it out and spectat

The door bar configuration look good, Morgan Clark runs similar layout.

Started on the bed cage. Decided to go from 1 laydown to 2 stand up spares. Hopefully have the bed cage mostly done by the end of next weeked

Timing up stuff on the rear. Got the drivers side bedside on, fuel filler in and figured some other mounts out. Also started getting the front end stripped down

Not much done Sunday but some is better then nothing. Got the 4x4 beam pivots loosely bolted into place and started drawing up radius arm/trans brackets

Got a few more things done this weekend. Got the beam mounts dialed in alittle better. Still need to gusset them and run some tube work in there. Got the radius arms mocked up and cycling. Trans cross member is mostly done. Got out to the GG night race, gave me some more motivation to get the truck done amd go racing

Got the front torn apart and the engine cage started. Knocked out some shock mounts and got it sitting on tires. It's no where near done but motivated now. Dog said he's ready to go
