Baja Nevada, longest continuous offroad race in the USA

HONEST question..........

if this is the "longest continuous race", why in the world would the owner of that race truck choose a 3.0 drivetrain?
i mean, i have no experience personally with them, so i shouldn't be talking shit. but all i do know is that they're so trashed on that there has to be some downfalls with them??? or has the owner just learned the INs and OUTs of this specific 3.0 and he trusts it?

also............... just to ask the dum question, because im dumb.......... are you talking baout the 1K? i figured that, but it also says "in the USA". isn't the 1K in mexico, technically?

The truck is a factory 3.0 truck, no reason to engine swap it at this point. The 3.0 is a reliable engine. Slow as shit but 6.13 gears help.
This is the Legacy baja Nevada race, basically Vegas to Reno race course made into a loop to double the length.
