78 K10 with a 6.0L twist

Got the old brackets cut off and of course nicked a hardline in the process. New perches are on just need to get new hard lines sorted plus shock mounts and its all sorted.IMG_9428.webpIMG_9445.webp

Catching up on some projects, and I love these trucks.

Your best bet for cost and availability is a 05+ super duty front. On that note, you will either have to retube it for pass drop or swap t case for driver's drop. For even more strength, a 1550 joint and shafts are available, and they are factory parts so they don't carry the same price as RCVs or the like. I think I saw them for less than $400 (each possibly, but could have been together, ECGS has them).

Other possibility is a 99-04 super duty D60, it's not as stout as the 05+, and do your homework as many are D50. Leaf sprung, but I think they are wider perches than square body trucks, and still driver side drop.

A GM D60 will almost require a rebuild, and they are $1500+, at least here (NC), if you can find them. Almost better off building a 609 for the strength and comparable pricing, just requiring quite a bit more work.

Love a LS square body. Like it's designed to go in!

Yeah I’m thinking I’ll try and see how long the d44 can stay alive. If I link the truck further on down the line I’ll go to a bigger axle but for now I picked up a 4x4 5spd 3.4 swapped 2g 4runner that sounds more appealing to build as a crawler right now just with the mountains of parts available for those things and the ease of fitting a 4runner vs a full size down tight trails

Original wiring was very questionable and I wanted to get rid of the crappy cheap Amazon light harnesses so I ordered a painless wiring harness after a short in the taillight harness melted part of the main harness wall plug behind the fuse box together into a clump.

Tearing the interior down to repair floor pan rust and add back in a dash, trim carpet and all that stuff. Anyone have experience with LMC truck’s stuff? Their catalog system just seemed the easiest for all the large variety of stuff I’ve gotta order up. Any other brands out there I should go with?
* mainly looking for somewhere good to get door panels, carpet, dash pad (mine was too far gone to re do) and a headliner backing pad I can wrap myself.

If you are looking for sheet metal stuff I would suggest Auto Metal Direct. If you are looking for general parts like interior and misc I would look at Classic Industries.
