Just a question, is the glass going to move the wheel opening to center it to the tire?
Yup correct, the rear glass will be centered over the new wheel location. But I am not doing your standard bedside glass you see on SUV builds. Will be modifying bedsides to look more like the bronco raptor glass and not cover the whole rear door.Just a question, is the glass going to move the wheel opening to center it to the tire?
I'm new here but this is really interesting....Can't imagine the cost I am working on my own build currently.Wanted to get those pre runner front fenders but if I can't get em on the back I don't want them cause it'll just piss me off maybe if my build is successful I'll take some inspiration from you lolUpdate on the build:
-Top of cage and rockers tube are full welded and pillars are ready to be tacked.
-Stepped up to monster 40” nittos so some more trimming will need to be done
- Rear pivots are all welded and body will go back on for last time.
- rear aluminum links are cut and ready to install
-Rear axle brackets are located and ready to be fully welded.
-Upright is going to send cut send, then I can build the upper J-arm, make the CO and bypass mount. Plan to build the mounts into the engine cage vs welding it on the frame.
After that she will be a roller, which I can’t wait to see. She is sitting roughly at ride height right now. With 40s the rear has 13” of up-travel.

Haha thanks, it’s not cheap but it’s super fun experience building it. Some companies make glass for SUVs but nothing for our beloved gmt900 platforms sadly.I'm new here but this is really interesting....Can't imagine the cost I am working on my own build currently.Wanted to get those pre runner front fenders but if I can't get em on the back I don't want them cause it'll just piss me off maybe if my build is successful I'll take some inspiration from you lol
Thanks dude! I totally understand that! We just had a baby 4 months ago and bought a house so life has been hectic. Haven’t touched the thing other than making it roller to move lol Congrats on the baby!! Super exciting!Freaking love this thing.
My baby is due next week, too. Sadly the nesting projects my wife had me do burned me out a bit, so no desire to work on the truck lol
Haha thanks! One of my favorite little mods I did also. It happens, my button was constantly going out so I got tired of it!Small detail, but I love the fact that you incorporated a manual hatch release pull on the exterior. I had the 5.3 pulled out of a GMT900 Yukon at work and some dumbass decided to close the hatch and I had all my parts stored in the trunk, which is how I found out that the hatch has electronic mechanism. Minor inconvenience but I like having mechanical backups for the electronic stuff![]()
