Hey guys my name is Chris and I own Northland Hobbies in Flagstaff, Az. I’ve had this c10 for just over a year and have been making small improvements but it’s time to do some major stuff. When I got it, it already had a really nice engine cage and coilovers in the front. It’s running OBS lift spindles with some clapped out 2” Fox shocks. Rear was stock leafs with a big bed cage and equally clapped out fox smoothies.

We added the front bumper, new wheels and tires that weren’t so wide, added a new stock grille..

I’ve had some kinda half way cool prerunners in the past, but never anything that worked very well or was exactly what I wanted. The goal with this truck is stock width, single 3” IBP shocks all the way around, 35” tires, linked, and beamed.

Thanks for taking the time to help me today Geoff, looking forward to working with you!

Today we got the adamantium axle bracing fully removed and axle tubes cleaned up. I don’t know what the heck they used for the truss but we burned through like 20 cutoff wheels, 15 flap disks, and 5 miluakee torch sawsaw blades. It’s time to get a plasma cutter..

I went with a Zona Motorsports truss, I like it and we’ll make it work with this old 12 bolt.

What are your guys’ thoughts on welding to the cast center section of the axle? Preheat and let it rip? If anything I would probably try to weld the 2ish inches of the truss where the axle tubes meet the center section of the housing.

The bummer about building a c10 prerunner is that there aren’t many off-road/ long travel/ bolt on components available. The cool thing is there are lots of great companies making stuff for c10 autocross/ pro touring stuff and I think a lot of that can be applied here. I’m using Tinworks Suspension rear crossmember and notch kit for square body c10s and I’m really stoked with the quality. The rear crossmember bolts in and offers more clearance than the stock rear crossmember. It also works perfectly with my rear bumper. Nice.

Here’s a few more photos of stuff, and massive thank you to Michael Cox for the hookup on the rear 3.0x18” Race Series IBPs!

I noticed on IG you had a pretty cool little get together at your store. You had some nice iron in the parking lot. I will have to hit you up next time I am in Flag.

If you are interested in a disc brake setup on the 12bolt truck rear, I am running first gen sequoia rotors and calipers. I'd be happy to share the details if you want. I did shim the c-clip grooves in the diff carrier to leep them from wiggling but otherwise its all bolt on. I even set it up to allow parking brakes.
