All that matters is the 5r55e is terrible. I knew when I bought this truck it was the trans and the steering rack I needed to worry about.

Soooo....I hate trans fluid, pulled the pan and letting it drain and drip all night until I look at it tomorrow. Was a clean drain pan, fluid was good, no metal.

How did the fluid smell? Clutches won't leave metal in the oil but usually leave a smell.

Fingers crossed it's something simple.

Trans smelled normal when it broke amd also when I dumped the pan. All I can do at this point is drop the valve body and servos start investigating

She's done. This was topside on the valve body.

It may be a waste of money but I am thinking I rebuild this one in the garage with the best I can source, it lasted 135k, maybe it will hang in there. Throw it back in, and start looking for a manual parts truck, otherwise it will be down forever. Got a little pissed off when I saw the chunks on the valve body, organized parts, cleaned tools and walked away from it. Fuck I dunno.

Edit: Pat G likes dudes....weird but ok Pat you do you, it's fine, I accept you.....not the coolest update but I put her on jackstands the night before, soaked everything that looks like a bitch in pen lube, scoped it out, did some cussing, and put up clean tables with pads ready for my oil bath tomorrow, gunna bolt the pan back on without the body. Plan is to pull it out, lay it out in line in a clean environment, assess damage, then hopefully get local HD or better parts at transtar then rebuild it. This is a short term fix as far as I am concerned.

Yeah...got to much going on...getting the itch to work on it again but something always comes up....atleast it's in the garage sitting in stasis.

Got some free time finally....this thing fell out of the truck about 10pm... Dogs pulling security, and good thing cause they alerted then chased a bear off that was about 50 feet from the garage while I was working lol. Bears are stupid.

Driving my friends white Chevy 4wd with a brenthel kit, deavers, triples, etc... One of the most comfortable trucks I have driven, not so great in the whoops but it's basically a couch with all the extra weight.

Yeah, they are more of a nuisance than anything else, get into the trash, climb on the trucks, try to get on my deck etc...but still with them being big dummy's I don't plan on being in my garage just to turn around have one staring at me. The bobcats and Lions are the ones to worry about, get those bastards alot.

Truck related, dropped my tranny off to be rebuilt, told my buddy to make it "Kyle Proof" .....he said thats impossible, I break everything, but he will make it as heavy duty as possible
