Hey guys, I just picked up a 2nd gen 4runner with…. You guessed it, a blown headgasket Anyways at the moment the plan is to fix the 3.0, and upgrade to headers to help mitigate the head gasket problems. Next I plan on SAS’ing it with a D44 in the front and then run 40-42” tires. This rig will be for snow only! I want to keep light high clearance axle. Has anyone had luck keeping a 3.0 alive?

Once the head gasket campaign was done on those 3.0s, they were fairly reliable. They werent known for great power OR mileage, but theyd easily last 250k miles if they were maintained.

Pro Tip:

You can't blow motors if it's always parked
