V8 Solid Axle Ranger

I hope I don’t have to use it, but I’m pretty stoked about this spare idea my driveline guy whipped up. It’s a telescoping ag implement driveline converted to 1350 ends. It can be cut to accommodate any length, so it can be used front or rear on any of the rigs going on our trip. Probably wouldn’t be great on the freeway, but should get us off the trail.

Trail was super nice this weekend, rain quit shortly after starting which killed all the dust and made some parts more challenging and fun. We came across the Rock Zombie party and got to see a bunch of toyotas flop over which was an unexpected surprise. Chevy broke a rear shaft in the 14 bolt and still drove out no problem. We never pulled out a single tool which I was super thankful for.

Experimenting with more traction in the front. So far there’s never been an obstacle I couldn’t make it over including Soup Bowl and Chocolate Thunder, but occasionally the truetrac in the front would slip a little too much at an inconvenient time. Eaton sponsored me this Detroit to try upfront, if it’s miserable to steer, I think I’m gonna try a WaveTrac.

No real updates on this thing, just been putting a bunch of street miles on it for funzies. Since I don’t have any major things to do to it before it goes to KOH, I’ve been just doing a bunch of little things. Added LED head lights and more rock lights in the front fenders and on the knuckles. Also added more packout mounts for tool storage, hoping to do more long trail runs/camping trips this summer like Dusy Ershim.
