V8 Solid Axle Ranger

Maybe add a diagonal to the extra cab as well, seems popular with the exo crew. I've never understood the cowl bar on the outside as it should be able to be ran through engine compartment.

Key is radius bends. I plan to do the same as you but I'm going to skip the cowl bar and skip the B pillar and use 2" tubing. The upper outside corner of the firewall typically has a lot of girth to tie into not like the center area where its tin foil. the cowl bar under the hood is a good idea also. Since your probably keeping your truck black and painting the exo black that will really help camouflage the jungle jim also.

It can't be understated how nice it is to have something that could flop at slow speeds and can come away with just a broken mirror.

Also I don't believe in tying the cage to the rock sliders. the rock sliders take a bunch of abuse that I don't like introducing into the cage tie ins and if you wheel hard enough and long enough rocks sliders can become consumables.

I was thinking about this as well, but not sure how I could sneak past them without getting too funky.

Another thing I was concerned about is cab movement. I have only ever had interior cages tied in everywhere. Do people commonly replace the bushings with solid mounts before adding tubes? I'd hate to ruin the cab by beating it into the cage when its on bumpy roads.

If you try and solid mount the body without tieing it into more support like a roll cage you’re gonna destroy the cab and core support mounting structure.

You need to find a Trans Pro's to get it done right.

Guessing symptoms are too many neutrals. @vcyota92 had some trans issues and he got them fixed. Maybe it's something like he was dealing with.

Thinking its something in the valve body. Ever since I took it in to swap the output shaft and get freshened up it hasn't been right. I either have 1-2 only, 1-3-4 or it wont shift out of 1st at all.. They want to try messing with it again. I'm pretty over pulling it, but I'm getting pretty fat at it at least lol

Definitely sounds like a valve body issue to me. These things have so many valves that can get hung up or worn out and cause a lot of issues. Is yours still computer controlled? Dan at Silverfox transmission was a hhhuuuggeeee help in diagnosing mine even though he wasn’t the one who built it. When I have to rebuild mine at some point or change the valve body, he will be my first call.

No, this is a late 80's all mechanical AOD. So it has the TV cable and governor on the output shaft. Supposedly they are sourcing another valve body and are going to swap it while still in the truck. we'll see.
