Alright brotatos.... it's time to get this thing back in action.
Flat towed her to the expo. (Actually my wife did cause she's a bad ass. )
Thankfully didn't even have to deal with starting truck as the 2 optimas are completely smoked.
Hard parked right at the front.
I've been going back and forth on a 3rz swap vs rebuilding 22re. Of course the 3rz would awesome over the 22re but it also going to cost probably close to $5000 as said and done vs the rebuilding of the 22re which I figured was going to put me about $1500-2000 range and a few weeks of time which also isn't super abundant these days. Not to mention most trips out I'm going to be taking the 4 runner out with the family of 4. So kind of had my mind set on being an Adult and just doing the 22re.
A few day ago, I posted this shitacular reel.
Kind of trolling seeing if anyone had a good running 3rz or 22re on value that I could just quickly swap in rather than going through the whole process of rebuilding on of the twos 22re I already own...
Welp the universe answered. Saturday I am headed down to Vista to pick up a fresh 22re with 100 or so miles on it that a fellow first gen 4runner dude had built ran it for a hot min and wanted something with more power.
Plan is to get this.. get the motor out of the mouse. Swap the good accessories over off of the 2 clapped out motors.
New Clutch
Clutch master
Clutch slave
And slap it in as they say in a weekend .
2 motor swaps in a 6 months... LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOO!

I concur! I added a downey header to my 22re and it added at least .69 hp!

Hmmm. Might looking into turbo down the road for it
I've got a long tube header off the 4 runner that will be going for sure and a need a new muff as the one that's on there right now is 100% fucked haha. I was looking under there and was like oh yea that's ungood giant hole in the front near the inlet lol

fresh 22re going in with a mild build
adding a header
deleting EGR.
New Clutch /flywheel

Installing short shifter
Yesterday Pulled it into the garage at 8 am worked on it for a few hrs til 11ish with @vcyota92 then had to come into the office..@gimmesand showed up and help Brian pull motor by 2pm.
just a little bit of grime
Got home pulled truck out and power washed the grime off.
I only have a working flux core at the house so we called in @the_fablab_ for his welding services. got the Engine cage welded up where couldn't get to 15 year ago when the truck was built and a crack welded up off the plate on the frame.
We got the old motor on the a stand I borrowed from my neighbor
Today Metcho is working on swapping over intake and accessories Tonight we will get it back in
