Tool Storage

i got the first tool rool to try out last night. Worked awesome and so much better than throwing everything into a single bag. With all the crap i shoved in it, it just barely fit the space, but it was great. I now have $100 worth of tools and different bags on order for the rest of my crap. lol

Amazon pouches
I grabbed these to separate wrenches and sockets inside my bigger harbor freight tool bag. I think I have a pelicon case at work I might S.tratigically T.ransfer E.quipment A.lternate L.ocation so I can consolidate some other stuff into it.

100%... think I talked about this in another thread but it's nice to have a big tool kit that's usually buried and then another " quick tool kit" that you can grab that's like under the driver or passenger seat with screwdrivers/ Mexican speed wrench and zip ties, tire plugs etc. So if you need something small you don't have to rip half the truck apart to get to it.
@4lowlance has something like this. I think it is a pouch with a crescent, vicegrip, channel lock, wire cutter, and probably a few other things. He has Milwaukee pack outs for everything else.

rad, i was looking at prp stuff, and this gives me another idea. I think ideally i might have a mix of a few different bag sizes.
I was looking at the PRP bags due to the $100 voucher... But then I read the fine print. I would have grabbed one of the rim center bags for sure, but the other bags looked to be good sized as well. Bonus that the base bolts down and the bag is on quick release.

My kid has been using the Milwaukee pack outs for the a while. All has been good. There are some companies that make metal mounts for them. Not the best pic.
Up front is the big open container with oils, Milwaukee tire inflator, random stuff. It is stuffed with some rags to keep the rattling down.
Then snapped on top of the big open one is a thinner one that has all the Drives, wrenches, sockets, and tools in pouches and in random compartments.
Then closer to the spare tire is 2 small Milwaukee ice chest. One for food and one for drinks.

As for the rattling in the mounts. its there. At one point I did bungee cord them down so they are tighter. But with the sound of the bypasses clicking and the rattles of it just being a Ford Ranger in general. You cant hear it out back. In a SUV that can be a different scenario.

I’ve got things refined down pretty good. Very similar to @59sled

2 packouts on a welded steel mount in the bed. With “heavy tools” and spare parts.

Then a medium tool bag on the cab that’s not too hard to get too.

Zip ties, crescent wrench and 4 way screw driver live in the map pocket of the drivers door.
