The Lonely Pinos 250 Prelander run. Bring the kids

We tried a few spots and finally landed at a campground with only a few campers nearby. We set up shop with ominous clouds rolling in. I set up the tent while C hung out next to the howl and warmed up... I have to say this thing is pretty rad when you need insta warmth.

I pulled up a chair next to C and just kind of took it all in. What a rad group of people, views. Sure the weather wasn't ideal in the current moment but other than that. This is about as good as it gets.

And then the raindrops began to fall, Wind was blowing pretty good. We Migrated to the other side of the mouse for a wind block. and decided it was time to try to set up the easy up.

The rain and wind subsided.
Kids hung out around the Howl and told jokes and whittled sticks

We pulled whatever was left in the coolers and a feast of sorts

The next morning was a brisk one

We said our goodbyes hooked The mouse back up to the Power Wagon and began our journey home down 395 South

scope the passenger tow light haha MINT!
We made it to Lone pine and the Alabama Hills Cafe was calling our name

We came back out to hit the road noticed the mouse's Driver front was low had a loose valve stem... aired it back up and we were on our way

@sdecurti dropped us off in Sylmar off the 5 We rain x the window and sent it No wipers on problem

That was a wrap!

BUMP just because. This was such a memorable trip for my son and i. We both bring the trip up almost daily. Every time we see a OBS ford Wes says "dad that looks like Lance's truck!" haha

Agreed! Wyatt still talks about it constantly, from the awesome views, hot springs, snow ball fight, BB gun adventures, railroad museum ……the list goes on and on.

The time is upon us to plan a fall trip. Most of us hit KOH in January/February so maybe a November adventure?

I'm tied up in November with our annual family Thanksgiving desert trip and a few camp ground camping trips before and after, plus the clean up so I'm pretty much booked for the rest of the year. March or April of 2025 will probably work best for me. Open invite to anyone that wants to join us for thanksgiving but its going to be nothing like this trip lol.

Nov is screwed for me as I have the cleanup and family vacation for thanksgiving. Spring should be legit as I have nothing planned, and would love to get my daughter out on a trip like this, where kids can play.

Next Lonely piños will be in April 10-13 2025. If the snow stays high I want to do a very similar trip but get up to Mono lake on dirt.

edit: Annie just informed me that Wes is out of school for spring break the week of the 14th, so i may have to just shoot for that weekend and maybe stay a couple of days into the next week.
