Same weekend as the Jawbone to Monachee trip, otherwise i'd be there. My brother and i went last year and it was a great time. The drifting is intense in person.

Cant make it out this year...2 years ago I think it was we had a blast out there. The drifting was rad for sure. I had never seen it in person prior to that.

Never really did a complete "build thread" on this truck, why start now?
Bought the truck 12ish years ago bone stock, swore ide never drink or eat in it. 01' Ram 2500 Laramie, and she was cherry. Fast forward 6 years later, and let's cut the everything apart. Kind of a Swiss army knife. 4x4, functional 8' bed, great fuel range, good power, 4.0s and 40's. Heated seats and cup holders. It's like the biggest, coolest, Swiss army knife. But also incredibly impractical for a offroad build. Perfect.
The beginning of the link stages started out with some hack job in Simi Valley, TT motorsports...

Was super shitty windy the last 2 days here. Was cold as crap too, felt like winter was back.

If vendors are down in the stadium on the grass that should help with the wind but it'll still suck. At least direction it usually blows will make it better for spectating since dust will blow away from everyone

Has anyone been to this in the past that can speak to how child friendly this is? I have a 7 and 9yr old that have had a great time going to KOH just not the chocolate thunder version of KOH after 9pm.

Very safe for kids IMO. I went last year and they made sure people were pretty far back from the course in the short course desert section. From what i remember about the drift course it was loud as fuck and you'll probably get some rubber thrown at you depending on how close you get.

Kid friendly is such a subjective term.
Using the kid as a gaurd rail at turn 2? Not safe.
I'm a pretty loosey goosey dad I suppose. Let the kids get out there and get the fun exposure, and punch drunk drivers in the neck.
