T100 neglected-an ode to the DD Shit Box

I purchased this 97' 2wd w 240k miles back in July. It needs lots of things, so I been chipping away at it. It was a neglected central Florida hunting/garbage truck for decades, so it's been feeling it's age. MC seized and replaced, still need to do front pads and rotors. Put new tires on. The drivers window and pass door latch did not work, now they do. A/C still works....kinda. Put a charge in it and it's a tad better. PO center punched the hood, grill, and bumper, so I liberated those to the junk pile. Cheap amazon grill now resides there. She is gonna be a parts runner/DD for awhile, but I would love to drop a UZ in with a cage and a center mount one day. Not that I know how to do any of that shit, but I'll continue to dream.

The other day I peeled back the timing cover and found a cracked out piece of rubber, so this week I started the job. The old belt was a cheap aftermarket. So I'm going with a Timing belt kit and valve cover kit, both from Toyota.

This 5VZ has an inch of grime from top to bottom, not to mention a nice bed of Oak leaves under the plenum. So when I lifted the valve covers, I was pleasantly surprised to find no sludge.

Yea, it's got good bones, no rust and it ran pretty good before I started meddling with it. Hopefully She has some glory left in her.
