Short Course Style mid mud flaps/rock guards?

skylar_speedco on youtube and i think @skylars_Taco on IG just watched some youtube videos he put up in ocotillo wells.

I wish i wasnt stupid and always trying to over think, over build and over budget trying to keep up with my buddies. A 5 lug 1st gen tacoma with a LT kit or one of those older Yotas with a Kit and Leafs on it just looks plain "simple" and fun.
just watched that as well and looked like so much fun.

Nothing simple about building a 5 lug tacoma. Stick with 6 lug tacoma if you actually want to build it. 5 lug is shit frame, steering, front suspension pivots, etc.
not building shit any ways i just buy parts and tools to look at it seems haha. I have a 1996 and a 1997 4runner they are very simple to work on youre right

but i like the look of a the small toyota p/u or the 5 lug tacoma when they are made to atleast least look "simple"

Ill have to do some IG stalking...

Im extremely biased, but the 5 lug 2wd pickups (not tacomas, I agree with everything tommy said about those) are damn near bulletproof. Look at the mouse, that things solid as hell. Or Michael Allens old blue p/u, etc etc. While theyre not super fancy race trucks, they sure do/did hurt some feelings.

Funny how things work out. I showed interest in a “mid flap” kit a guy on a Gen 1 Raptor FB page was putting together a couple weeks ago. Honestly wasn’t looking into it too hard, just thought his truck looked good with them on, and I had been on the fence about making something similar. Well, said guy messaged me this morning asking if I would product test his kit for TSP, a raptor based accessory shop. Apparently he’s got 2 other kits out product testing right now. He asked me for some mid frame to ground measurements and said he would get me a kit as soon as possible. Love them or hate them I’m going to install his kit hopefully before our new years trip in Cal City and give him my feedback.
