What’s up everyone!



Here is my ‘71 F100. It’s no paradigm of amazing fab work, or cutting edge technology. I think a lot of this thread will be mostly a photo dump.



Maybe it will hold me accountable and get me to actually take it off road (and not just the dirt of my front yard)



Picked up the truck in 2013 (after I mashed my Ranger into the k rail on the 405); she was pretty on the outside, but had 40 years of grime on the frame and a rats nest of wiring. Long bed, step-side and had a nice rattle can paint job.

Wasn’t too long until I started stripping it down to do what I want. Pulled the tired FE 360 out and started cleaning everything up. Picked up a used Autofab kit

Wound up selling the 360, and grabbed a 390 from Tommy over at TTMotorsports. Shortly after started in the rear end. Picked up the rear suspension from TheFabLab’s bronco. Also shortened the wheel base, cut 16” out of the frame.

Then came the wiring, and I was overwhelmed. Got the truck over to Tommy and Mikey at TTMotorsports when he was still in Simi. They tied up all the loose ends that I had neglected and did all the wiring.



AR23’s were the choice for wheels with some 35’s

Shit, after a few years of being a paperweight in my mom’s driveway, it was finally running! I was so stoked.

Had some issues here and there. Blew the head gasket in the 390. Redid the heads and was back in business. But not for very long

Tossed some coil overs and bumps at the front. Don’t laugh at my welds please

Eventually life got in the way. Took her out on a few more trips, but the 390 was tired. After some thought, I figured it was time for a cage.



Off to TheFabLab for Mikey to work some magic to make it safe. He’s the best.

At this point, it sat in my mom’s garage without windows for a while. Was dumping oil into one of the cylinders, and just didn’t have the time to take care of it.



Around COVID time, I bought myself a house in Simi. One shotted Plum from my mom’s to my new crib without windows. Smoked out every neighborhood I went though.

Spent some time getting the garage ready to do some work. Got around to getting all the glass reinstalled. Brought the tubes down to my existing bedcage to try and clean it up.

Then it sat for a while. No longer really drivable with how much that 390 was blowing by.



Got myself a new job, with some more money, so it was motor swap time. Mikey found me a Gen 3 6.0 pullout, and so started the motor swap.
