1995 F-150 Unicorn rebuild/ snowball

Hello guys I to dump everything I have on here on the f-150 rebuild I did a few years ago. Most of you will have seen the truck before but if you want to know ant in depth information about it, I am an open book. I have a build series on youtube I will post links to. I redid this truck in record time I was working on it 40+ hours a week on top of my regular job.

When it came to be it was already a running and driving linked truck with a 5.8 L supercharged engine. It ran rich and obviously needed some TLC. The goal was to take all the parts I had for another build I was going to and use them to build a better and faster version. I. Already had MMW 1.75 king pin beams in the works, and a Dirt-Tech tig welded housing with hubs.

The first real trip was straight to Baja for the 500 this was my first time take a truck there and doing some of the race course. The truck never skipped a beat and we had a great time.

This truck has been in a constant stage of evolution since the day I got it and it has not stopped to this day. 3 different sets of fiber glass and I recently swapped the brake calipers over to Jamar and holy shit what a difference.

Making fiberglass work when it wasn’t built for a regular wheelbase track was no fun but we got it done.

Then there was this one time at KOH when I broke the pitman arm. The failed was completely my fault, but it was fixed in about an hour once I got the truck home.

Right now I have the truck torn down and it will be going off to interior in the next few weeks. I am going to pull the motor to clearance the chassis for an AC compressor. I put in an Old Air Ac unit since the vintage air wouldn’t fit

Beautiful truck, how do you feel the LP6s do as your only lighting solution on the truck? Also, what is your reasoning for only using amber?

Interested in the wiring, did you do it yourself?
I did everything minus the engine harness myself. Engine is a Holley Dominator and harness. Chassis wiring is powered by switch pros and I used all Tefzel wire from pro wire USA

Never did figure out how to wire the wipers so they would park themselves though. My wiper switch works like this. Hit button once it's fast...hit it again it's slow... then hit it third time to turn off (and try your best to time it right to get it close to park.) LOL

Pretty sure I need a relay... but didnt want any relays on truck. (only 2x relays on it are from A/C and Holley unit)

Thanks man. Yes it does take forever but if you aren’t willing to pay the big bucks its worth it. I’ve never wanted to pay anyone for wiring now that I have learned the proper way to do everything, which still might not be as good as the pros but still better than most people. I have never dove in on the windshield wiper motor but I believe there is a wire that gets a quick power for the “return”
 
Yea... I thought maybe supposed to be wired with power as soon as you turn on ignition. I think this because... ever notice if you cut power on a car. Wipers stop in middle. Turn the wiper switch off after power is cut... turn ignition on.... The wipers will park themselves immediately.

Trying to find decent info on off-road builds is tough, yea I want to build something nice but sometimes it’s almost too much. Like trying to decide if I want to use TXL or tefzel, what tooling to buy in what price range etc if I’m only just doing it once.

I was with Christian at KOH, enjoyed looking at yours and Brett’s trucks up close

TXL is more than enou for most prerunners. The price difference to tefzel is aggressive. My truck is mostly Tezel since I had extra from previous jobs. You can really spend as much as you want on wiring without finding the bottom it can get crazy fast. My next truck is going to be insane on the wiring. I want paddle shifters and all the bells and whistles
