Misalignments for Heims and Uniballs

Hello,

So I have a 2010 Silverado Ext. Cab with an older bolt on Mazzulla Kit up front. It seems the Mazzulla spindle was drilled out to use bolts instead of tapper pins for the tie rod and upper a-arm.

You can see from the pictures what is existing. I bought all new uniballs and heims from ProBearing and already picked up misalignments to replace what I had and 12 point hardware.

For the uniball it's a 1" uniball to 3/4" bolt. I figured I would keep the spacer between the spindle and lower misalignment. Is it possible to use a smaller misalignment on the top? Something like the halfmoon ones Dirt King sells? I have been looking but I cannot find anything 1" to 3/4".

On the outer Heim I down sized to a 3/4 Heim going 3/4" to 5/8" for the bolt and a shorter stack height. Could I use a half moon style for the upper stack if I can find one? Would it be better to leave the stack I got and add a safety washer since it is single shear?

Thanks for any help. I'm still trying to learn this stuff.

It's already single shear so you wouldn't be downgrading with a half moon. The straight bolt is used alot but not as good as a tapered pin since it walks around a bit and slowly stretches the bolt necessitating re-torque once in a while. Some people will weld the lower spacer to the upright to stop this, or cut a taper into the upright to use a pin. I don't see a benefit to Dirt Kings unless the 12pt head is real small and allows full articulation. Camburg style recessed dome would be the lowest profile option and the one I would hunt down but I don't know if they are made for 1" uniballs.

Thanks for the reply. They do be seem to be hard to find in a 1" uniball for 3/4" bolt.

I guess if I can find them leaving it with high misalignment on top too would be just fine.
