Midwest Twist on a Potentially Go Fast Bronco?

Yeah absolutely. I’ve priced up a cage through him, but man oh man does shipping kick ya right in the dick.

Seeing you put his cage in is what made me contact him about getting one.
You may already have experienced this, but think about how quickly you’re realistically going to install the cage and whether or not that would be after a potential trip out west to save on shipping for multiple parts. I’ve had parts sitting around for long periods of time when I didn’t end up using them as fast as I thought I would, taking up space and rusting, etc. just because I had the “itch.”

100% THIS ^

Im sitting on a slew of parts for all of my various truck and motorcycle projects - in some cases Ive had some of them for so many years that the companies have already updated the design(s) and Im now sitting on "out dated, new stock" parts lol.

Well yesterday was a hilariously crazy day.

I called one of the local yards on Monday looking for a super duty axle for one of my clients. They gave me a price and told me it would take a couple days to arrive and to call them back if I wanted it.

Talked to my client and he decided to go with a remanufactured axle assembly from one of my vendors vs the used option.

Randomly at work yesterday a guy shows up talking about how he has my axle and wanted to know where I wanted it unloaded. I was obviously confused as the remanufactured axle wasn’t supposed to be here for 3-5 days.

The yard decided to ship me the axle anyway. The guy had already unloaded it and they cut me more off the price of the axle since they didn’t want to take it back with them.

Puts me in an interesting position to do a Solid axle go fast(ish? Maybe?) build with the Desolate kit. I can flip the axle and the guys out here will probably double my money, or I can just use it and enjoy the strength.

Well I called to inquire on a matching rear axle for this SuperDuty front 60. Yard had one with 125k miles and factory E Locker for $250. It’s on the way now too.

So plans have evolved a bit.

Desolate Solid Axle Kit w/ 3.0 IBP kings will now work the front end in place.

Talking with Blake now about some of the new 40” Shreddy tires. Those will end up on some Battleborn Beadlock wheels. 17x9 ish with either 4.5” or 5” BS.

Going to swap in a mid 2010s superduty gear box as well. Drill the frame holes out and it’s a much beefier box internally. Should help with the 40s till the hydro assist can do built.

Out back we are still going to SUA, just with the 8 lug axle. 3.5” tube axle and I’ll probably weld the tubes to the center chunk to help prevent spinning the tube. Maybe we truss it as well. Front Dana 60 will end up with an under truss to help keep the solid axle alive.

Maybe the forum gods move this if necessary. Still want to do go fast stuff, but also now goin to be doing a bit of wheeling too
