Well I've watched the forums a bit but mostly follow the IG. Miss the old forum days of NAXJA in its prime, Colorado4x4, and even some lurking on pirate (I always watched the fires from a distance, never posted).
Originally an XJ/MJ guy with a bunch of different builds on those turds. Built a stock class jeep TJ and then for some reason decided to build a 4500 class car from scratch as my first from raw materials build.
Also host a wheeling get together every spring called Best of the West where we get rigs and people out to hit some West slope Colorado trails and push themselves. Ifs rigs to buggy dorks.
Still working through new car blues, and just taking it all as learning experiences. Have to sort out how to drive the car as well as get it to work right.
I'm not valuable for any tech or info. I'm just a dummy with poor decision making skills who decides to try and build things.

What's funny is I am setting this up so I can change the body however I want. My brother in law has an EB and we measured if the body might be close, and it would take finesse on the rear but doable. Can also fit a jk/jl hood and grill on it as well. Options never hurt. Especially since tacoma body lines suck to mess with.

Best of the West is weekend if may 23. Usually Thursday -saturday. Start in Grand junction for trails like billings, 21rd, etc. Then ends Friday and Saturday down in Montrose for the mix of trails down there. Do it about the same time every year. Not an event. It's free get together. I try and cook food for everyone Friday night and we do some sort of fun prizes for people that gets voted on by those in attendance. It's a lot of big rocks, similar to JV trails. Just in dry Creek beds. 35-37 minimum depending how you're setup and drive. Absolutely a winch and lockers, and for most people there will be dents and scratches. Buggy dorks have some big kid trails they play on at the same time.
