Summit headers are ok I put a e303 cam in my 5.8 but I have maf no real difference in power so save your money and just gear it for your tires if you haven’t you’ll be better off

I read certain years (01 among others) of the super duty boxes fit 150/broncs. They have 4 bolt covers, Like the one in that ambulance.

The reman steering box I put in my truck when I did the front at first 6 years ago was meh. The redhead I put in it this time around seems nice and tight off the rip. Yet to really beat on it tho

Ended up sticking with the stock spec cam, and I got a set of used pacesetter headers from philo. Yeah regearing would probably be a good idea anyway

she’s back together and drives so nice now, ended up having Martin at Raygoza auto repair in Long Beach take care of the rebuild and the r&r cuz he cut me a really good deal, I highly recommend him for rebuilds/builds. Drove 3 hours home with no problems at 70mph. Still needs some stuff squared away like cleaning up some wiring underhood, and doing the r134a ac conversion but overall I’m very happy with it. Thanks again Philo for the headers and motor mounts! One of my stock manifolds came off in two pieces so it definitely needed them

Drove her to work today, did great. Needs some small things but it’s a lot better than it was
Got a little zip-tie happy with the plug wires, kinda weird I bought the NGK kit from rockauto for this engine and the wires are stupid long

Wires normally run along front of valve cover behind the AC compressor, then follow it back dropping down to each plug, not a straight shot to middle valve cover and then spread out.

So nothing really to update, been working more OT than normal and it’s been hot as shit lately so the trucks been sitting a lot. She’s gonna need a new compressor to get the A/C working so I’ll probably swap out all the accompanying parts. The orifice tube was clogged up worse than a Taco Bell toilet so that explains part of the issue.
Rolled out to Fiesta island to hang with some coworkers, and the wife got a cool pic with the Seaworld fireworks. Didn’t take it to the DFM meet tho, ending up taking the wife’s Bronco cuz A/C

Can anyone in San Diego program a hard mounted VHF or UHF radio to common race channels for spectating? I’ve got the opportunity to get an older ‘obsolete’ (by EMS standards) Kenwood or Motorola head unit for next to nothing and I plan to mount it under the dash in my truck

I hadn’t really thought about it much, but I’ll shoot you a DM. I already power probed them all and every one powers up, and all use the same two wire power/ground pigtail which I got a couple of spare ones. No antenna wiring, brackets, or mics tho yet

The TK-980 doesn't operate in the correct frequency range and the TK-8180s are a UHF radio, not compatible. You need a VHF radio that operates in the 136 to 174 MHz range. This is based on my limited knowledge of radios. I think @SteveG can chime in with more technically accurate info.

Thanks dood. I hit up PCI out of curiosity and this is what they told me, might send out a couple to be converted to GMRS.
And for those interested, I was able to get a couple mics for these and some miscellaneous brackets.
