Thought maybe if I make a thread for this thing I’ll be more inclined to keep chipping away at it. I’ve owned this truck for about 8(?) years, it’s been a long term project, spent a couple years partially dismantled in my backyard because I didn’t have the time or money to get it back together. Now she’s running and driving again but will need a lot more work soon to ensure that it keeps going. At a standstill till I figure out what direction I wanna go but it’ll need the motor gone thru since the crank is walking pretty bad now. Anyway it’s a 1993 F150, original 5.0, and supposedly its 2nd e4od. Frontend is on stock beams, with Broncograveyard drop pivot brackets plated and gusseted by my buddy Garrett at Corrosive Design. Hooked up to Threat heimed radius arms, Solo MS 4” coil springs, one Bilstein 5100 per corner, Desolate MS extended/braided brake lines, and Moog F250 ambulance steering. Rearend is stock for now. Engine is stock with a UPR billet smog pump bypass pulley on a cleaned up stock bracket courtesy of Tommy Trego. My whole plan for this thing was to always stay stock width and keep everything relatively simple, and to be honest I have a bad habit of getting sidetracked with other vehicles occasionally and then this thing sits neglected. And now that I’ve bought a new Bronco and sold my Jeep Commander, my attention has been all on the Bronco lately. Whether I rebuild this motor or buy a junkyard motor to build the truck will still have an old 5.0. It was on 15x10 Methods and 33s for awhile, but recently swapped back to factory Alcoas and 35s till I figure out if I wanna refinish the Methods. Its a greaseball of a truck.. and now I’m realizing that I don’t have that many good pictures of it haha

where'd the smog pump delete bracket come from?
The alternator/pump bracket itself is just an old factory one I bought off Tommy and cleaned up and spray painted. The bypass pulley and attached billet bracket came from UPR, they sell ‘em for old 5.0 fox mustangs and it bolted right up. I did have to space out my alternator with washers though to take up some of the slack. Honestly if I was to do it all over again I’d just go with the plastic Dorman bypass pulley and bracket like a lot of other people have. Haven’t heard of anyone having to space those out

Anybody got a line on engine builders in San Diego? Want it done right but not looking to spend a ton of money. Will probably be pulling the motor myself and then sending it to whoever to go thru it all and possibly wake it up a bit if I can afford it.

OBS Ford guys chime in please, getting ready to pull the 5.0 and have it gone thru. Current plan is to keep it 95% stock, except for maybe a mild cam, shorty headers, smog pump delete(already installed), and Solo motor mounts. Going to keep all my other smog equipment like egr, etc even tho I don’t have to smog it anymore cuz I don’t wanna worry about trying to possibly have it tuned and I’m not looking for an increase in power, most of this is done out of necessity and somewhat just cuz I want to. So what would work best with a stock speed density 5.0 as far as cams and ‘smog legal’ headers? I don’t want to convert it to MAF. Trying to keep costs down and keep things simple. Going to run shorty headers cuz my stock manifolds are cracked. I want a mild cam cuz I want it to sound cool and lopey lol. Going to run Solo motor mounts just cuz the motor will be out so why not. Also if anyone has recommendations for new/refurb obd1 ecm send ‘em! Other than consuming oil, tons of blowby, and the crank walking, my engine runs fairly decent but I have a phantom CEL due to corrosion in the original pcm

Alright so the plan now is to keep the stock cam, currently deciding on shorty headers from Summit, and probably going to just get replacement OEM style motor mounts from rockauto mostly because of price and I don’t think I really need ‘em. I just like to go overkill when I can afford to.
Random truck pics just cuz
