Building a jeep soon and plan to meet 2700 class spec with the build plan with the thought to eventually sign up for a race… with that being said. Is Jeepspeed still a thing? Are there still races? How many racers out there?

Jeepspeed website isn't current either.
* Schedule as of 1/2/2023 (Subject to change, please check Best In The Desert website periodically)

I also don't see any jeepspeed classes on Snore results for rage at the river. So it may be a dead race class. You can enter in sportman i'm sure if you're set on building a jeep.

That’s what im Seeing too. Trying to build something that’s still trail and family friendly but can race when I want to too. I’ll look into the sportsman class

Honestly there's better vehicles to build for the trail and family right and to race a couple times a year. Jeepspeed is cool but not the best vehicle or one i personally wouod choose. I personally like ttb bronco explorer if you want suv or f150 ranger for trucks.

From what i've been told from someone who raced Jeepspeed Trophy, it's dead. So i'd assume Jeepspeed as a whole is just about dead too.

jeep speed is kinda dead but they are a riot to ride in. if you want help with figuring out parts for it id hit up chris nissley on insta aka nrt_autosport he was the guy back then for those

Jeep speed was a rad concept that worked for a long time, it is a bummer to see it fade away. I remember going to if not the first race one of the first races, it was in Ridgechrest and my dad's buddy Berrie Thompson who we went to see won.

Unfortunately the price of used Xjs have gone up due to them being capable, and reliable and so many got crushed during the times they were worth so little. Dang cash for clunkers killed 18,329 XJs

I get what you’re saying but it’s a bummer. I still believe it could be popular still. XJs are still fairly cheap and now ZJs are pretty cheap too for 2700. Granted it’s all relative and perspective. If you compare to years past they have gone up but that’s inflation for ya :/. That’s an interesting fact about cars for clunkers! With how class 11 has made a resurgence I wonder if Cherokee racing could too? Get a few YT influencers to push for it and I bet it could… just my .02.

I really wanted to build a ZJ for 2700 and then 4600 for KOH not much different in restrictions between classes actually. Still plan to build the zj to meet spec just incase ha.
