Are you going to do a bump pad on the axle as well for bumpstop to hit onto?

I wasnt planning on it. in my head this is no worse for springs than normal axle wrap is.

Please explain the reasoning behind the bump landing on the spring? Not hating or loving, just wondering

Bump doesn't fit on top of the axle without cutting into the cab, which I want to avoid like the plague. it started off as building a pad off the front of the axle down low, but then I was thinking (dangerous thing, i know) how is that any different than just having it strike the spring itself? its like 3 inches thick right there, double reinforcement on the front half of the spring (so the bump wouldnt strike the main leaf itself) and its such a small lever arm from the center of the housing to the bump how could it be any worst then the forces that axle wrap puts on the leaf? I legit got 100 plus messages on instagram about it, smart people on both sides of the argument. At the end of the day its just an interesting thought exercise and I am willing to roll the dice in the name of science.

I sold a 9in to a guy at KOH last year. He had his bumps hitting on a bump pad off front of the axle and it caused so much axle twist it broke the pinion on his 8.8 Then it did same thing on his 9in. But that was directly on the axle on spring over F31 deaver ranger

On F31s I seriously doubt it had anything to do with the bump stop. I have watched buddies rangers axle wrap themselves to death just trying to make it up a sandy incline hahaha
