First Gen DC TT Tacoma

Not derailing the thread. I told Jack I wouldnt mount king kongs up front with stock rack. Stock rack dies if you run more droop than my towers are designed for, so this will allow another 1" bump and 2" droop strapped. Plus quicker steering and a ram/box which is way better for offroading.

Ok well 4.0s and uca won't play nice work designed some J arms and even then ill have to mount the bypass almost hanging off the rear of the arm and they will still only cycle the 10" or so the kit is designed for before lower 1-½ uniball and steering binds up.

Once I figure out where front tubes if engine cage will land ill do the new front frame mount and do the front uca and crossmember off that and tie it into skid plate tubes and everything. These arms are out of some 18ga sheet I had and I'm gonna design the internal gussets a little bit to make less pieces but just as strong as well and less bends so they go together easier. Need to add tabs into the vertical interal gussets. Im drawing all this in 2d so ill make bottom with slots, then tack outside pieces on to measure where tabs go onto internal pieces then add them and cut them out and fit before putting the top onto it and then welding it all up. But that will be after the shocks and engine cage are all mounted. Can't be wasting 3/16 material since that shit ain't cheap anymore.

Redesigned upper J arm 3 times now and it all clears. Moved lower shock mounts 1-¼" out since 12s can swing a little better motion ratio than the 10s the kit was designed for. Will cycle full metal to metal with steering at 19". Tire straight itll do a little more but I gotta check full turn at bump and droop so lost a little bit.

Also did upper shock mockup mounts off engine so I can land tubes and then do plate shock mounts off engine cage like I did on my Tacoma and everything else with out shock towers.

Also did some custom mockup shock brackets tack welded to exhaust covers I cut out and top tab to catch valve cover so nothing moves. I was gonna run the shocks like this but I don't think mounts to headers will last.

Neither have I but I was needing to notched the frame where I normally do it off of so I saw exhaust right there. So cnc cut out plate from LS file I found and then did it that way. Super easy when no manifolds in the way so nice plate uniform square surface at same angle front to back.
