Planning to have a session day on the trail early June. Haven't made anything official. Idea is drag out a grill or something to cook some dogs and a cooler or bucket with ice to chill some water and high calorie sport drinks. Then lap the trail or sections of the trail until everyone gets tired of having too much fun.
So I locked in the session day for June 1st. It would be rad if we can get a good number of riders out there. I put a time of 1300 but I will probably be out there earlier getting stuff setup. My wife was a little confused on the concept as she thought we were just doing a lap and coming back to the house for a party. This might or might not also be happening right around my birthday. I had to explain that the party was on the trail and I didn't want all you heathens at the house. Now I just have to finish the two features I am working on and buy some new 10" tires for my wagon to get some of the gear out there that day.
I probably will stop building for the year after this until we get natural moisture again. Hauling water up to the dig sucks no mater how I do it. I would like to find some time to do some trimming as well but I am behind on a few house projects so we will see.
Looks like we will be trying some homebrew soiltack this weekend to see if it helps the sections with a less than ideal sand to clay/soil ratio hold up better to the abuse. Something along the lines of 10 gal water / 1 gal elmers / splash of vinegar.
Did some hardscaping yesterday.
Rock island with an arch sculpture. Mainly to keep the Surrons from turning around in that area.
Also did a stacked rock wall on the inside of the big hip optional line. Just used mud as mortar. Lets see if it holds.
This shovel was a rad find at a local estate sale. The flat bottom is rad for packing. Only paid $8. Took it home and hit the bottom with the DA sander to put some shine on it before taking it out to the hills.
Reworked this section that I had told myself would wait until next season. I was hoping to get a little more berm stacked. I'll have to soak the back side dirt and pull it up some later. Hopefully this adds some flow to this section as it has always been disapointing.

That would be rad. I have one of those short handle sickle things similar to what the robot uses. I haven't really tried it out yet. I wish I could swing a late start and go out with you.
