Figured I’d start a build thread on the new prerunner build. Although it’s nearly complete now, I figured I could dig through the archives and find some pics to post showing the process from the very beginning. Enjoy!

Roof section of the cab cage going together. Cab is also positioned 2.5” back of stock location. (The idea was to keep as much of the firewall in intact as possible)

Big block found its home in the chassis. Accessories sourced from a junkyard 98 suburban. I told myself in the very beginning that I wouldn’t let a tig torch touch this truck. That didn’t last long haha.

Vons Transmissions built 4L80, SYE installed in the 241c, trans mount tied into radius arm brackets.

Cut a big old hole in the floor of the cab. Pivot boxes attached to frame, unfinished trailing arms & upper links mocked up with the Dmax axle at full bump. Time to start lacing some structure.

Bunch of floor tube laced in, cut more of the rear firewall out and started sending tubes out back.

Picked up the 3.0 IBPs from Keith Marigold along with the manual valve body 4l80 from Vons Transmission. Built out the rear sho k brackets. Went with a tube/plate style mount. Trying to keep it slim and functional.
