Had a great time…full of highs and lows

Qualified with the one and only Dan Vance in the right seat! Just cruised to get a feel for the truck and track.

Race time cane around, started 11th of 13. Owner of the truck was now in the right seat yelling at me to make moves. I pushed it 110%, passed 5 trucks in 2 laps, already working on the next pass for half a lap.

Turn 2 just after the big talladega turn I came in hot trying to carry as much speed as possible, bicycled hard, tried to correct. Managed to get full steering lock into the bicycle almost saving it but the steering rack so no more and exploded.

The BTF kit didn’t give a fuck though, slapped a new rack in and Dan Vance drove the second heat with his son passenger for the first time and pulled off a 5th place after 10 years without being in a race car. His first lap was his first time driving the truck. Impressive for a truck with 10” of wheel travel and a 3.0 5speed combo.

It was awesome to see especially with his son riding with him.
We also ran identical fast lap times which I was pretty stoked to hear
