4x4 prelander / camping rig suburban

thoughts on a 4x4 suburban? Currently been thinking about something like an 04-06 suburban or Yukon xl for a 4x4 camping / family snow adventure, daily driver, tow pig type platform using the jd fab 4x4 mid travel parts.

I want 3 rows and room inside is the only reason I think a suburban over a Tahoe is better for me.

Or is a newer 4x4 suburban worth looking into?

I've been looking into these more lately for a family off-roader. The main consensus is that they are big and heavy but they are actually lighter, shorter, narrower, and have a shorter wheelbase than a Raptor crew cab. They have a shorter wheelbase than a crew cab Chevy and are shorter overall with only a 500lb increase. The four fullsize doors allow better access than the Tahoe sized doors and make trimming for up-travel easier.

The latest gen Ford Expedition is tempting too as it accepts Raptor take off parts easily but is so new it is price prohibitive.
Both generations of Sequoias accept Tundra parts but the first gen is too small and the 2nd gen has crappy IRS.

I own an 03 suburban with barn doors on the back. Totally stock, 260k and I love it. I don't think I'll ever own anything else. Its the perfect family truck.

I looked hard at the 2500 burbs, mainly for the higher payload and HD running gear.

But plans would be solid axle, like the WFO Concepts kit.

Edit- had a 02 1500 2wd family bus. Treated us very well for almost 10 years, did very basic maintenance never needed much more, other than valve cover gaskets. 1000% would buy platform again
