Dude I feel you on that. I'm 6+ hours from any desert run. Living next to the ocean has its perks, but desert runs isn't one of them.

Ryan just finished up the track bar mount. I wish everything could just get clear coated and not painted....
Also, boosted 6.0 4l80 tow rig with 3200 stall verter....

And this is why I moved from Santa Maria. Too far from friends and the desert for me. No wife/kid to worry about so I can do that.

Ya, but now you live in Lucern... lol. It's almost mandatory that you smoke meth and can't own guns if you live there.

Well shoot dang! When are we going on a trip?! Ide really like to do a cal valley trip or something

You get to drive far because you're the only one up there and our annual Pismo trip hasn't happened in years because Pismo likes to suck and keep people from camping and using their trucks now.

Steering and track bar finished up. Going to full crossover allowed for a full 14" of travel with only 2* of bump steer, so that's pretty awesome. Have to do something about the front driveshaft now that it droops that far. Binding at the double cardan joint... might do some handy work with a die grinder..lol

I haven't heard of a clocking ring for a 241DHD, but I guess it's possible... I know my front splines are sloppy anyways, so it wouldn't be a bad idea to replace it. High angle drivelines are available, but man are they pricey.

Thats the problem, they don't pay cops worth a shit lol. I'm hoping one of the kids will end up successful and they will put me up in a nice home somewhat early.

Here's the bed cage I did as well. Was a full bolt on bedcage with no cab cage and removable bed. Also had a suburban gas tank mounted behind the axle.

Haven't touched this thread in a bit. Couple good updates. Swapped out the rear Fox 3.0 3 tubes for Carbon 4.0 5 tubes. Had to pocket the bed cage tubes to get them to fit, but they fits! Took the risk, but so far they are doing great 👍
Also, I've been working on isolating individual noises. Clunks, tinks, creeks, bangs etc. Ever since the truck got caged it had a HORRIBLE "whirling" noise. Thought it was the tcase, so I rebuilt it. Thought it was U joints, so I replaced em and balanced the 2 piece. Thought it was a carrier, swapped it. Did EVERYTHING to avoid doing what I knew it was as along, the fucking rear end. The yukon gears and master overhaul had 12k miles on them... ugh. Pulled rear shaft and drove it down the street and it was silent. So I ordered Revolution gears and had another yukon master kit on the shelf, had them Installed and the noise is FINALLY gone. 100 more break in miles to go, then back to flogging.
In the midst of trying to sound deaden stuff, I drilled tiny tiny holes in the A, B and C pillar and filled them all with fireproof expanding foam. It actually seemed to help a bunch.
Pulling the knuckles off this weekend, or after we get back from V2R as well. Had EMF machine me out some lower balljoint tapered adapters, as my EMF joints are beating their way through the lower knuckle tapers lol. Makes the axle look bent, but tracks GREAT down the road this way. So between that, and cutting the original cruise control module out to be replaced, she will be dialed for the up coming season!

Referring to the one down in Superstition? No way I'll make that. That's 50 billions hours from here to not be a 3 day hard dirt miles trip.
Edit* nvm, I'm sober so excuse me. Barstow nov. Wasn't planning on it, but I could be down if I can cuddle up with someone or stay with Thomas... ?
