2016 Tahoe, let’s make it cool

So the wife has been weighing options for a vehicle.

She is driving a 2016 Tahoe LTZ, has some wheels, nothing too special. Has been a good ride for her.

She has really good taste and the vehicles she likes are out the budget for right now unless we want to stretch a bit on funds.

I’ve been floating the idea of “pimping her ride”, she’s not opposed to the idea.

First order of business is going to be a whole
Mess of maintenance items, all the fluids, cv shafts, unit bearings, etc etc etc.

She wants a little bit of lift and some 33s

Soooooooooo, what’s out there for these trucks in terms of suspension?

My thoughts were new rear springs, new rear control arms and panhard, some nice front upper control arms , new stock replacement lowers and good shocks all around.

I was looking at the IzzyFab stock worth front stuff but it would be a waste on my wife’s truck, although I really like the idea of it.

What’s the best bang for the buck for replacement shocks for these GMs?
(Fox, King, Bilstein, lifted magneride ahocks?)

Who has good upper control arms?
(I was looking at dirt kind, Camburg, LSK)

Was looking at Method 709s , who is gonna have the best prices on those?

Any input and ideas are welcome. I have ideas , but as always there are obviously things I’m overlooking or don’t know about

I’d love to go full on mid travel but it’d be wasted on her. It will see the road most of the time but occasionally on weeekends or trips may see some fire service roads

Also contemplating having the AFM/DOD delete done, anyone have experience with that? Anything to know or avoid?

I got my wife a 2019 suburban.

It has 2.5" kings on it, dirt king uppers with a 1" spacer. Rear has 2" lift springs on it with helper bags for towing. Has the fender liner trim/tuck and it clears 35's without rubbing.

I bougt it with the 18" grey wheels/35s and recently changed to black 17's on 35s. I will warn the transmissions on these are very weak. There is a gm service bulletin on this however they never did a recall on it. The torque convertors fall apart and send metal through the entire trans. Ours went out 3 weeks after i bought it at 53k miles. It cost me 6k to get it redone, i did all heavy duty internals and a bigger torque convertor. no issues since.

Yeah the 6L80e does have the faulty TC. I just did the rebuild on my 6L80e myself - its honestly pretty easy (around $3k in parts). That said, my brother has a 2019 Burb. He's towed his 21ft toy hauler across the country twice without issue. I'm expecting to be rebuilding his trans at some point.
