Under the bed cage? Please clarify. Do you just want to keep the shocks under the truck/bed, or keep the shock hoops under the bed line? Or you want to go super-trick and run a cantilever?

If you mean shock hoops in the wheel well under the bed, a lot of Tacoma guys use them but you’ll lose a bit of up travel with 12” shocks. Some claim to get 14” shocks in there but again at the sacrifice of some up travel if not going with 16-18” shocks.

Maybe @Giant Geoff would have a suggestion with those springs and minimal to no bed intrusion.

I want basically exactly the link killer 64” giant long travel leaf spring under the bed cage to fit on my ford ranger so i want to keep my bed go leaf spring not cantilever thought just your normal frame or tower to axle mounts or

I’d bet 69 cents he’s asking about a cantilever setup. Do I win?
Nope i want bypasses and leaf springs just a cage under the bed instead of in to kinda keep the purpose of my bed, im more looking to see if id end up needing to raise my depth of my bed to make it fit for the full 17” of wheel travel on a giant 64” leaf kit

this thread has Jakeys name written ALL OVER IT.............
but imma be a good boy and keep my mouth shut.

to the OP (O.riginal P.oster. that'd be you, @Rosie the Ranger . It took me forever to figure out wtf that meant when i was new to forum lingo. hah) ........ i think everyone is confused with how your saying what you want.

please clarify.

you can get the Giant 64s, and put them "under your bed", technically - yes. the leaf springs always mount UNDER THE BED.

i think what you're more saying is, you want to MOUNT THE SHOCKS UNDER THE BED. not necessarily put a "bedcage under the bed", so that you can have full use of your ORIGINAL/STOCK BED compartment.

please correct if im wrong?

answer is - yes, you can do that. i'm not sure if you'll be able to do it and get the 19" travel it advertises, or whatever it is, 17"?, but you can get the shocks mounted under the bed while using the Giant 64s. you might need to cut holes for the shackles in the bed though. i'm not sure on that one. if so, that wouldnt be a big cutout or anything though.

SEE GUYS!!! I CAN HELP!!!!!

Yes that is completely correct i want to avoid having to cut into my bed and making a bed cage i understand that the giant kit in itself is just hangers and shsckles but i am looking for a under the bed mounting system for my bypasses, the giant 64” kit can make up to 17” of travel so id like to be able to maintain most of the travel while still keeping functionality of the bed

Without a cantilever setup you won’t have the 19” I’ve been able to get with that pack AND have shocks that with worth a poop. You’ll need to angle them so much the ratio will be atrocious. Having shocks in the wheel well like Tacomas will limit you to maybe 14-15” of travel, plus you’ll need a wider axle to fit them

How wide are the Ranger frames between frame rails? I wanted the same setup I mentioned with shock hoops under the bed on my Tacoma but my friend that worked at LSK at the time talked me into doing a cantilever kit someone had designed there. It’s not advertised and it’s made for a 1st Gen Tacoma, but I’m sure they’d cut you out a set.

Ok thank you that does help a lot, how much of a difference would it make if i were to raise the depth of the bed from say 1’ 8” to 1ft depth do you think id be able to get a proper angle, i can mount in the wheel well for the giant kit because ill have bronco 8.8 by then on my ranger so ill have roughly 4.5-5” of extra width each side

Thanks id have to take a tape to the truck and get back to you

For under the bed you might have to get a f150/bronco they have kits for them already that keep keep it under the bed/cab plus more room for activities I throw my wife’s 110 in the cab of my bronco and my 450 on a rack with space for camping stuff

This is relatively new style shock hoop / bucket at Solo Motorsports but again, just an idea of the style that people run on another platform. You won't ever get the same amount of up-travel out of it and at minimum have to run wheel spacers or big-offset wheels so your tires don't rub the shocks but I don't know how much on a Ranger as much as Yotas. I don't think minitrucks don't have as much room under the bed as full size trucks, but with the mention of the Bronco under-the-bed shock relocation, I wonder how much Explorer's and Rangers share on their frames. I know Cookcraft Metalworks is making super popular under-the-bed 1st gen Explorer shock relocations.

With your truck being 2wd, why do you not want to go for the bedcage / 16-18" shocks? My truck's meant to do truck stuff and at the time of building it, I imagined I'd be sleeping in the bed with a camper shell, that's why I chose to not do that.

Thats kinda what im trying to avoid even if i just figure out the math and make it but my goal is to avoid buying a new vehicle bc i dont see it done on rangers and would be cool to keep functionality and mob whoops with a small easy to work on cheap truck

Yea i really like that it looks great my kit is 4x4 thankfully but it is my daily driver and i work construction so i use my bed Quite a bit for tools and hauling in the bed
