I picked up a 77 f250 with a 92 5.9 Cummins 12v 3-23-2, I paid $2500 for it. Cab is in good shape so Is the front clip. The cab wasn’t mounted when I bought it so that was my first order of business to mount it. I quickly found out the reason it wasn’t mounted is the turbo hits the factory ac/heat box. So I pulled the turbo and got the front of the cab mounted. The cab is on a regular cab long bed high boy chassis so it’s 4” narrower. I made rear cab mounts so the body can sit on the frame and get tightened down. I ordered a bunch of parts and now I’m waiting for them to show up. I picked it up on 3-14-21

I personally believe all 250 and up trucks should have cab lights

That’s all for now waiting for parts
I ordered a bunch of stuff that will be here in the next few days so hopefully I can start building this thing. It’s currently sitting at my dads because he likes looking at it and he has a hoist in his shop. Once I get the super duty axle installed in the front I will bring it home to work on it. Picked up some coil overs and tires for it.

Got a few things done this weekend on the truck, I installed my American shifter co shifter, should of went with a lokar there was no direction didn’t fit right and is missing hardware ect. I also started installing my battle born brakes highboy super duty axle swap brackets. I chose no powder coat as I wanted to weld the brackets on instead of bolting .

Few updates on this. Finally swapped the front superduty axle in and brought the truck to my house. I need to rebuild the coil over hoops for the front to lower it some but hope to have it going soon. I bought another Harley so I have been changing things on it and riding it. In the last month I put just over 1000 miles on it

I got one of the shock hoops done this weekend before I ran out of welding wire. I also had the engine running on its own once I got the fuel system bleed out.

Turbo is in it relocated spot. I finished the turbo oil drain yesterday and order the fittings switch I can make a new oil feed line.

Finally had some time to work on the truck. I Plumed the fuel cell and got the truck to run on its own. So I started putting the front clip on and mounting the radiator and intercooler, still need to find a ac condenser that will fit but that can be added later. I put the fenders on and wanted to see how the wheels are going to look. I’m not a huge fan of big wheels on older trucks but these don’t look bad for a 20. Gives it a kinda modern wagon wheel look I think. I also pulled the dash so I can start rewiring the whole thing. Someone did some bad wiring on it I. The past and burnt up half the dash harness. Also picked up some rear leaf springs and a bunch of dirt logic 2.25 shocks up with a bunch of parts for $200 I will use some on this and on my wife’s excursion when I swap it to a coil spring axle from a 05 and up truck.

February 28 2022 I Finally pulled this thing out of the barn sitting at final ride height 2016 superduty leafs out back coil overs up front 2010 super duty axles. I took it over to my fathers shop so we can swap the zf5 in it. Hopefully it will be moving under its own power in a couple weeks. Plan to have the new trans in this weekend then it will be figuring out drive shafts trans crossmember removing the divorced np205 and figuring out the clutch assembly.

Finished my rear shackle hangers tonight it’s all made out of 1/4” plate should be plenty strong enough for anything I put behind the truck.. also test fit the rear bumper slowly making progress on it

I worked on mounting the back bumper. I narrowed it to be the same width as the bed. I also reused the original tail lights for the truck. I will be adding led bulbs to it as well.

I pulled the trans out and found out it didn’t have a torque converter in it which explains the leak and trans not working. But I’m still going with the 5 speed started sides on the box as well. Cutting up a old utility bed to finish it I will add a tool box or 2 to it. It has just enough stick out on the side to throw mud down the whole side of the truck. Lol. Ordered all new ss brake lines that should be here in a few days hopefully have the new trans in this weekend, I have been waiting on the new fly wheel bolts. I still need to get the divorced np205 pulled out and build a trans cross member and Reinforce the front crossmember so I can remove the one behind it for drive shaft clearance

Got this back in the shop last night have to pull the trans back out because I was sent the wrong flywheel so hopefully it will be moving under its own power this weekend. I have to bleed the brakes and finish some intercooler piping and it will be almost ready.

started on my exhaust as well it’s going to run under the cab and dump in front of the rear tire. 3” down pipe to a 4” straight pipe that will get a turn down on it.

On 3-29-22 I made some Cummins decals for the side of the truck and finally moved it out of the shop under its own power. Still need to finish some stuff but it’s closer than it’s ever been to being driven down the road.

What type of wiring are you going with? I’m going to have my truck retired with a painless system that has all of the wires labeled every 12 inches.

I just bought a 12 circuit fuse block and I’m doing all my own wiring. I used 7 wire trailer wire to run from the fuse block to out side ect

nice man’s. I’m working at an event in Missouri and was talking to the guys from red arch. I got talked into a battery isolator for a dual battery set up. Pretty cool set up if you plan to run winch.

Nice the winch on mine works mostly there for looks as this is a tow rig but I’m sure I will use it every now and again.
