That’s why I haven’t bought one yet…

I have a couple projects to complete before I start seriously shopping for the right truck.

Well we got some snow on Monday so I put the truck in the barn and installed my new led headlights. It might be old but I will at least be able to see at night when I drive it now. Lol

Slowly picking away at things. The bed is all welded up need to add some bracing for the sides and grind some stuff off. Also added some 7” hids I had laying around. Next will be the dual steering stabilizer set up I got dirt cheap after I make a bracket to match the missing one.

Few more updates on this. So far the only issues I have had are a bad slave cylinder leaking clutch line and piped a high pressure oil line to the turbo. I have towed my dump trailer with it and no complaints so far. I need to bleed the brakes some more as the pedal is a little softer than I would like. I did finally do the 3600 governor spring and fuel pin. I haven’t driven it yet because I’m waiting on my clutch slave and new braided clutch line. Been putting it to work around the house also

Haven’t posted much on this put a few miles on it and one day it went pop and shut down. I brought it home and broke some ribs a few days later then went on a 10 day vacation to our sand dunes here in michigan got back home and tore it down and found the problem. A bolt came out of the timing cover and broke the cam gear off. No damage to the head or pistons fortunately. I’m ordering a new cam lifters/tappets and going to upgrade the push rods will it’s apart.

Sounds like the “killer dowel pin” got you. Sometimes it will fall out when driving but ends up in the oil pan without any damage. Other times it’ll do what you have experienced.

Might be a mess while I’m working but gets cleaned up at the end of every night. But I don’t care I build 3-4 vehicles a year. At anytime I have 4-5 projects going. It takes most people years to build one vehicle I built and was enjoying this one in less that one year.

Get it dude! I'm just jealous. My garage is a mess and I'm not even really working on anything haha.

The wait for parts is finally over cam and tappets showed up last week head gasket showed up Friday and new push rods showed up yesterday 8-21-22 finishing cleaning up the engine and painting today drop the head back on tomorrow. Kdp block off plate installed as well as removing all bolts inside the timing cover applied lock tight and retorqued them. Pulled the oil pan and cleaned it all up made replacing the tappets easy! That’s all for now hopefully have it back up and running this week.
