08 Dodge Megafun

Rebuilt the tent rack to stand up the spare. Added a slide and updated from a not really working CFX65DZ to a new CFX75DZ.1000019870.jpg
I thought I had pictures of the finished bed setup, but i guess not. I will add some later.

Had plans to run out to the desert for a overnight with Shane meeting up with some of the boys but my truck had other plans. The 6spd trans didn't want to shift past 4th getting on the freeway so we turned arouned and unpacked. Hopefully get the codes read this week. Praying it just has a valve body issue again and the rest of the trans is fine.

Trans code was P0871 which points to OD pressure circuit issues IE Valve Body or solenoids. Dropped the pan and everything looks good as far as no extra material. Saving up for a Randy's Baby Maker 1000 while also trying to pay off Christmas...
Need to talk to them about what they recommend for a trans tuner to go with it. I have a Smarty S67 for engine tune but they don't have a tune with trans tunning I can find.

Hopefully this, some new filters, and 15 qts of ATF +4 keep this thing moving forward.
Randy's Transmission Baby Maker 1000 valve body.
Super easy install. Jeff at Champion Transmission helped me out and programed in the required re-learn after the install.

Nice. I wish my ex didn't sell my 06 megacab 3500 6 speed manual mega cab w/synergy longarms steering fox 3.0's full carli leaf pack etc.

Sounds about perfect. If I don't care about trips with any of the kids and the dog in the cab, I would love to build this with the short WB and all my other stuff. I would love some long arms down the road.

Disassembly has begun. Probably going to be three weeks before I can get back at it.
Driveshafts are out. 5 of the 6 t-case nuts are off. T-case is drained.

The flat bed has the way overbuilt drawer off the back that is going to be great for tools and such. I plan on raising the hitch cross bar to be level with the bottom of the frame down the road.

Did a quick platform on Shane's Jeep to make it more camp loading friendly. If it works as planned we will paint it with the roll on bed liner to seal it up. This will also make leaving some stuff in the jeep a little more fake secure. 1000024504.jpg
We borrowed this rad light weight trail trailer a friend built as two of us camping out of a TJ this weekend will be tight.
Ultimately we need to get the spare back off the back and maybe build a rack over it as well to free up space.

The borrowed trail trailer worked rad behind the jeep right up until it didn't. It followed / tracked great down the highway. Barely noticed it on the trail from the passenger seat.
Then, just before dropping into the river camp spots at Monache the spindle left the chat. Luckily the spindle had a stub that semi keyed into the axle tube to support it vertically. Ratchet straps were ran from one hole in the top, around the opposite leaf and into the other top hole. Same thing on the bottom, but we ran a second strap from the first strap hooks as we felt that was the stress point. We also changed the loadout to put more of the heavy stuff on the Jeep.
The repair lasted from Monache to Kernville where we found an auto shop that ran a good bead to get it back on.
Makes me want to invest in a Karnage welder for the truck or pay the service fee for a inreach so I could have "phoned a friend". 😄

Camping was great. Did some casting with Shane. Caught lots...
Of trees, bushes, and rocks. Weather was perfect, bugs were fairly nonexistent. Water was a little on the brisk side. I got up to my waist but I deemed it too cold for a tube float.
