    Hiking

I think the view from what I think was sawtooth pass hiking out of mineral king in kings canyon (if I remember right) was one of the coolest things I’ve seen. Might be because that was my first trip too. But you get up on top of this pass and look down into a valley of like 5 little lakes and...

    Mezzanine concept

Yes when the axle is not parallel to the rest of the truck. I found out the hard way you need long “Tierods” connecting the axle to mezzanine arm to allow for both angle change and side to side movement because when the axle is no longer parallel to the chassis, the mounts get closer to the...

    Hiking

Not sure why I haven’t seen this thread before, I’ll post some pics tonight. I’ve really come to like backpacking… it’s a great poor man’s outdoor activity once you buy some gear, it’s more or less free. Doing a couple nighter in August this summer.

    A Arm suspension design

The “correct way is to start at the wheel/spindle and work your way in, more or less. Wheel offset and tire size will determine spindle kpi. Are you good at 3d cad stuff or you need that done around parts you have?

    BTF 98 Explorer

Rolled out under her own power yesterday, getting washed off and cleaned up after being exposed to dust and grime in the shop for way too long. Need to tighten/double check all the jam nuts and stuff, then take her for a spin around the block to make sure the tone ring works right and it shifts...

Thanks, You too man! Crazy to think there’s quite a few of us that have made this a career huh? I think your “misaligns” were straight pieces of tube back then. 😂 And yes, those are for his mountain bikes.

Now everything is back in and in its home. Wires tidied up, dash back in, etc. it’s been to the dirt once and the customer liked it, but it definitely needs some shock tuning and probably a little stiffer coil up front. And he put a branch through his brand new bfg all terrain so it’s going to...

Once the chassis work was all done it was time to turn our patio into a paint booth. Customer picked a grey Powdercoat for all the un-bootable stuff and we got some automotive paint matched to those parts. I wasn’t sure about everything being the same color at first, but once it was all done I...

These are horribly out of sync… scrolling through my phone finding pics of this between random life things, etc. guess this means I need to start posting here for better documentation purposes. Or get a work only phone. 😂 Dane welding out the Backhalf, seat mounts, radiator mount stuff, bump...
