Started mounting up my kit today, do i have to remake upper a arm mounts? The stock ones create a negative 76” degree at ride height but goes to 90 at bump. So if i put a arm mounts at the top of my frame does the degree go closer to 90 and stay there throughout cycling? Very confused.

Doesn't that kit come with upper arm mounts integrated into the shock tower? That's what their website shows at least, if it does, use those mounts and don't move it, if you move it to the top of the frame you will certainly eliminate the instant center and get a ton of bump steer as a result, its typically unlikely in my experience that the arms will be a perfect 90 degrees to the frame at ride height, it also depends where you set your ride height as well of course.

its a wiy kit, no uca mounts.

I did this on a friends 05 or 06 Silverado, the heim on the upper on the passenger side towards the back had to be threaded almost all the way out to get it somewhat aligned. So I cut and extended the mount so he could have more adjustment on the heim.

This is also a zona kit, they did install the shock hoop/upper tab kit, but even with that it still had to be extended. I guess something changed with the arm tabs in those years.

Do you have the measurements for how far above the stock mounting points they are? and what the measurement is on the hole? is it dead center etc

I don’t, it’s been a while since I did that, but I remember just bringing it straight out an inch or two

Bump

So came to find out that its a gmt900 kit not a 800, i already have everything cut off and frame plated and what not. Is my best bet just making custom mounts or what should i do?

I dont know shit about the GM platforms, is the difference in the mounts, or the kit itself? Itll be easier to get the right kit for your truck than it will be to "adapt" a kit that wasnt made for your truck, to fit/work on your truck.

I assume its both, most designers (myself included) move the upper arm mounts to smooth out the camber curve on these trucks. The chassis and control arm are also different (to my knowledge, I haven't dug into a GMT900 yet). I agree its going to be the best route to get the proper 99-06 GMT800 LT kit.
