Where’s all the moto dudes at?

Nice. I went through and rebuilt the rear shock and cleaned the carb like 2 years ago now (will need to do that again) but just putting the bike all back together and getting her 'organized' is what I need.
Get to it. I’m currently in the process of bringing mine back to life.3B8FF672-2771-4AF1-A61C-A6DAE6C28F34.jpeg

Seems like there’s some old XR love around here. My dad has a 400 I jump on from time to time... those things are fun cruisers. Here’s a a couple pics of my buddies XR600 I freshened up for him a couple years ago. He wouldn’t let me do a full blown restoration on it since he still wanted to ride it regularly but it still came out awesome... it was a bit of a basket case when he dropped it off! Last pic has my 08 crf in it.F37F2E40-FF57-4651-A67E-5F3188681C7A.jpeg5FB088D8-CB53-4BA2-BB8F-E86A869E08F8.jpegF7314FF2-1666-4CE6-A5C9-5F5C4639DB19.jpeg82ADCCB2-19CB-41D8-BDDD-A5D8230B914A.jpeg9412F998-9796-40FB-B88F-85A46FC1C774.jpeg

I consider myself a motodude. I've ridden dirty bikes since I was three and raced D37 for a couple of years. I currently have a 2004 CRF450R that I got brand new. It has a giant IMS tank and I switched to an 18" rear as I main ride desert. I still shred it on track though. I also have a 525 EXC that has been punched out to a 570 and is CA plated. I got it for $1000 from an old co-worker about a year ago. The thing is cherry and kicks ass. I debating on switching my 450 back to track duty and keeping the KTM as the desert shredder.

I would just so you could have the best of both worlds.

Things Clean! I just picked up a new FE 501 in November and loving it. Always rode Hondas until this one, already got 40 hrs on it oops

Im still into riding. Started on my first bike at 12 years old with my dad on an xr100. Had a couple other bikes growing up and when i graduated high school i bought a 2005 crf 450r that i still have. I just did a refresh on it last season and still try to ride when i can.

Love seeing the old XR bikes on this thread. My uncle has an older XR400 hes looking to sell if anyones interested. I believe its an 01 or 02. Im sure its been sitting for years but the price would be cheap for anyone interested! i have too many projects right now.

Heres a pic of my CRF and my buddies RMZ

I kinda really want to sell my 800 and do something like this. Im guessing with 25k in a year, the 1290 is a good ride?
I had a 990 that i put about 6,000 miles on and when i sold it, had 66,000 mechanically solid. I had a 2015 1290SAT that broke a chain and took out the slave, sold it to a buddy and he repaired it and is currently riding it. had 20k when i got it, put 20 on it, he has only put a few hundred on it. Solid bike. My current 19 i got with 10k and has 37k.

This 19 is amazing, I did the saddlesore 1,000 in 15 hours on this bike. started getting discomfort the last 150 miles only.
besides breaking chains, yes plural, and the gear breaking there have been zero issues and I ride hard. I have the major services done at a dealer and besides the values they always comment how nice the motor looks. This LC8 platform is amazing.

its super comfortable and faster than 95% of anything on the road. So yes great ride and the only way it goes away is getting replaced by another 1290.

I'd consider myself a washed up "motoguy" that still rides quite often. Some what of a vet track hero. I've ridden tracks mostly in my younger days. Got into desert and enduro riding. Found offroad racing "4 wheels variants" and kind of strayed from dirt bikes. Within the last couple years kind of rekindled my love of riding. I do a mix or track, desert and hills above my house (corona). Track is fun with the kid because he loves to watch and ride around on the 110.

Just picked up this YZ250. 3rd one iv owned i love them.

I tried a '21 790 and didn't like the way it handles. Something with the geometry made it really unsteady above 70. Next time I'm planning on going up the coast for the weekend I definitely want to rent a 1290 and see how I like it.

My brother has an old 950 and other than having to mess with the carbs he loves it.

Underpowered and overweight, just like me. Kinda bought this on a whim and after riding it on some trails I don’t hate it as much as I thought I might. Probably going to put a little money into the suspension and see how it does, but a huge part of me says to just get an xr/xl650 as they’re very close in weight.

Me and my buddy's do the dual sport thing

I havent tried a 790 yet. but I can tell you this 1290 is super stable as far as you want to push it

Let me know when you do the Corona hills. Even though I've lived here for 15 years, I've never ridden them.
