Ive had this bike for many moons and its just hanging on the wall. Ive been in the "if its not bolted down, it needs to go" mood lately and I think its time for this thing to find a new home.
That all said, I have no clue what to try to sell this thing for, so Im looking for a little guidance.

I know its old(er), has more scratches than I can count, and the derailleur needs to be adjusted. It also has newer grips and I just put a new set of holy rollers on it. What say you, bike nerds?20251216_125853.webp20251216_125913.webp20251216_125939.webp

MAAAAANNNNNNN I've wanted one of these for decades! That thing is slick!
While this is great news and all, I still dont know how much to ask lol.
Assuming lady Bodj would approve the purchase of such a mechanical wonder, how much would you pay for this one in particular? Keep in mind its a short frame, so it might be too big for you...

There are a couple on Pinkbike to try and compare.

https://www.pinkbike.com/buysell/list/?region=3&q=Specialized p2

I don't think dirtjumper tech has changed all that much, so some kid would prob still be stoked on it. Would prob go decently fast for $2-300 I'd think? Or if you are feeling charitable go to some local jumps or pump track and hand it to some kid who looks like they could use it.

I'd say 200-300 bucks... I bought my 2014 p2 for $450 back in 2020

Put it up on facebook market place you'll get dudes hitting you up mainly to just see if it's available and then some one will come in with a low ball for $100 cash RIGHT NOW and wont show up.. 🥴

I'd throw down a couple hundo if the wife doesn't get too pissed.

Also, screw youuuuu

🤣 Pogs. I have that same bike, mine is converted into adult sized BMX dirt jumper. I still love that frame.

Did you sell it?

I had a brand new one in 2003. First one in the state my shop told me. Sold it on EBay and shipped it to Greece a few years later.

2003 was glossy gray with the P girly on the bottom.

I missed the bike and ended up with an 04 and built it to cruise around. 04 was like a black bedliner texture.

I found a 2003 last year and picked it up for $300 or $350.

These came in short or long and both are pretty small.

The 03 I ended up with is a short. I would love to find a long frame.

Now you really sent me down memory lane. I even got a P3 centerfold girly sticker from the Specialized sales rep as a big bear race back in 03/04

I didnt/havent. If its only going to fetch $200-ish bucks Id rather just sit on it and wait for the local bike park to get built (so I can show the young kids how old guys crash), supposedly theyre going to put a pump track in too.

I didnt realize these things had such a following! Im thinking a setback seat post might make it feel a bit roomier and get me to reconsider selling it.

*side note, its crazy how much heavier the P2 is VS my stumpjumper*

I always loved the Specialized P’s! I ended up with a Trek Bruiser in the same era, bought it in 2005. I sometimes regret selling it as it was such a blast to rip around on.
