Figured I would start a thread up here hopefully this forum takes off and is like dr used to be.

I bought this bronco and had it delivered 2-12-22 from southern Tennessee to michigan. The first thing I did was wash the salt off it from its ride up here. Now I start planning out my build. Until…

Less than a week later I was standing at the clock about to leave work when a bronco popped up about a hour away from me. It had a solo motor sports cage, solo coil over mounts solo radius arms solo rear shackle hangers and shackles as well as Q80 springs. It’s a roller but was a frame off from out of state (Arizona) so it’s clean so I will be selling the black one and picking up where the guy left off with this one.

Around feb 23 Few parts started to show up for this. I told my wife I wouldn’t work on it until I finish my 77 super cab build but that doesn’t mean I can’t order parts. I got my switch pro which I plan to use to run all my electronics in the bronco. I also got a 2:1 steering quickener my beams should be here in a week or so. I have my 460 up on a stand and getting ready to order a cam and gaskets for it so I can get it set in the frame.

On March 22 I did a few things on the bronco while I’m waiting on parts to show up for my Cummins swap. I picked up some used +6 front fenders and temporarily installed my steering quickner. I took the opportunity to teach my niece how to use my lathe and mill had her make me a Litle adapter. I also picked up a 4x4 c6 that needs a rebuild and started collecting parts for my 460 swap. I’m waiting on my solo beams and some 2.5x14 coil overs.

My beams and coil overs came in! I can’t wait to start building this! I also started assembling the 460 that’s going to be in this. Cleaned the block up put the ported dove heads on it and sat the intake on it. I have also installed the cam and lifters and roller rockers since I took this picture.

Going to start throwing parts at this thing this coming week! In preparation I got some paint on the engine last night

Got to finally start on this last night! Started with removing the stock beams.

Once I had the new beams on I reinstalled the knuckles and wheels and tires

Had to see what it looked like at full bump.

Monday evening I installed my coil overs and measured for my steering I’m going to be building.

Thanks it’s getting there. I’m using a southwest speed quickner I got it through one of the company’s that so over our YouTube channel

Got a couple things done last week. I installed my coil overs and picked up a hood and headlights so I can start mounting the front end. I plan to get the engine and 2wd trans dropped in this week so I can start the front tube work and steering.

The 2wd trans just for mockup? I thought you had picked up a 4x4 c6.

2wd trans is to get it running the 4x4 one needs rebuilt and I still haven’t found a tcase yet lol the 2wd also only has 25,000 miles

My dad son and nephew helped my tuck the 460 and c6 in to the bronco this weekend. One step closer. I ordered a bunch of hemis and some brackets to start building my steering. Until it shows up I’m going to work on the front end. Start tiring the cage and everything together. Mount the radiator ect

I finally had some time to work on this! Saturday I made a steering swinger and mounted my steering quickner, installed my headers and started on my dash. Waiting for some tube and hemis for my steering so I can finish on that. Plans are to build a trans crossmember next to get that crossed off the list then rear shock mounts and fuel cell mount.

Little more work on this unfortunately I broke my ribs over the Memorial Day weekend so work will slow on it for a while but I will still work on it when I’m feeling up to it

Dinner with one of my side chicks, steak tamales beer and prerunners life is good! Lol worked on the double swing steering was hoping to have it ready for our Midwest dirt fest but I guess I will plan for next year on that. Just get to go watch again this year

Got some time to work on this again now that my vacation is over and ribs have healed. I made my brackets for my double swing steering and I’m going to start on the wiring. I also rolled it out side to wash it

Had some time to work on this lately. Between helping my dad coyote swap his early bronco and other projects. It pulls 18” of travel up front 60% up travel 40% down on the 12” coil overs bump stops are tacked in need to make some more plates for the drivers side and finish weld them it’s close to final ride height I might lower it some yet we will see. I still need to do the limit straps yet. I plan to work on the fuel cell and rear shocks next.

Finally got a chance to work on this with no distractions this weekend. My patents was out of town so I got it on the hoist in my dads shop.
I started working on a pitman arm cut out a plate with the plasma put a bend in it and got a rough shape started. It works but needs some more bend to it. I had my son cut out some plates with the plasma cutter for the bump stops up front to get those done. Then I mounted my front and rear limit straps. I also mounted my steering quickner. From center it is 1/2 turn to full lock each direction.
