What size AC do you have in your shop and how much insulation? Are you happy with that setup? I am planning my garage out now and looking for options.

The majority of the insulation is 2” foam insulation board from Home Depot. By itself it works pretty good, I would like to cover the insulation with thin dry wall or even that fake wood paneling you would see in a house from the 70’s.

the insulation board alone is enough to keep the heat and cold out. But a little extra covering on the walls and celing wouldn’t hurt.

I’m using a blue ridge mini split with three air handlers. I believe the mini split is a 3 ton unit
1- 9,000 btu unit for the “clean” room
2- 12,000 btu units for the shop

The mini split works awesome, for both heating and cooling. I would absolutely go that route again.

Shop size is 1600sq ft +-

holy fuck., a lot has been done since i last checked this thread. sub'd now/again in case i forgetededed againagain.

looks tits. all of it. all of the tits.

I took the bronco for a short drive last weekend when we had a break from the rain.

Wet road + old dry projects + rear locker + 1/4” toe in alignment + front breaks hanging up = an eventful first on road test 🫨

Made it over to @Bpbuilt house without incident though

- The front breaks had been hanging up after using them for a while, then I would let the truck sit and cool down then the wheel would spin free, I took some fluid out of the reservoir. It seems to hang up less and less the more I drive it…. Self clearance lol

- I toe’d out the front end 1/4” to see if that would settle down the twitchy steering.

-after putting 20 gallons of fresh gas in, it got a little more shit in her git. Also settled down on the road a bit.

Recent work
-installed some cab lighting
-fixed the rear window regulator and tail gate door handle
-built a rear storage deal

Next on the list is a rear tire swing

Also bought some PRP harnesses off Amazon, when cruising the the review section I came across this beauty…

lol 🤘

Been working on a tire carrier the last few days.
I set it up so I could carry a 37x13.5 if I ever needed to carry a 13.5” tire…… Looking back I think that I didn’t need to do that and I think it made the tire rack look kinda weird with a 35 on it.

I’m going to strap it instead of bolting it down…. Still waiting on the weld on clip rings and the strap to finish it up.
Also set up a dust light.

Time will tell if it holds up 💩

The super trap side exit exhaust was a bit too rowdy…. If any of the windows are down you get gassed out. Not too bad when you’re rolling around with the fellas. But my wife wasn’t into it, especially since I’ll be throwing the kiddos in there one day.
So I’ll be doing a 3” all the way to the back

Nicely done. For me I would add a small flat pad where the carrier meets the lower bumper area right above the license plate. Put a delrin pad on the bottom of the swing carrier which lands on the pad to support the weight, when the carrier is open you can use the pad as a small step to get things from inside without having to drop the gate. I've fixed a few carriers this way after they started tearing the steel bedsides off, haven't had a problem after the pads where installed.

Thanks dude 👍 I should have posted up a clearer picture- but I did add a clam shell type catch that grabs the bumper. I didn’t do any padding in the contact patch though. I am also going to add a latch to secure the bottom as well

That bent tube acts as a tire support but also pics up the bumper support

Do you think I would be better off with a larger support area?
It seems stout but I am still worried about the bedsides tearing off

Gotcha. imo I would rather have a solid vertical support that carries the load, with the tube setup you have now it can deflect backwards with flexing. Definitely better than nothing though and yes, the bedsides tear and when they do they keep going. You'll also realise that s small step is very useful for getting stuff out of the rear without having to drop the gate etc.

Thank you gents! I’ll report back after I get some dirt miles on it.

Also I’ve been working on getting the radio hooked up. I installed everything but never tried to fire it up before then install. Drilled a hole in the roof, secured the antenna mount. Mounted the brains and the panel head unit chinga-deriss.
Sure as a frogs ass is water tight, that bitch didn’t want to fire up when I put 12v to it….

Might have to cruise over to the radio shack and see what’s what

Just checked out your whole thread, did not read it but was looking at the pictures. Keep up the good work. Looking good my man.
