Welp after selling off some rigs I was able to get a new family rig. With a family of 6 the options are pretty limited. We settled on a 2004 Limited Sequoia. 240k miles and bone stock.
As with any adventure rig, the first mod must be lights! I had these strands laying around off of my 4runner. I drilled some holes and added backing plates. Now the family won’t be scared when going to the mall at night!
Next mod was of course fitting the biggest tires possible with no lift. So I ordered up some 35’s to put on a set of trailready beadlocks I had laying around. Holy cow was it impossible to pull the old tires off the beadlocks. Someone had glued the inner bead on and I ended up having to take them to a tire shop to be removed.
Ok putting 35’s on a stock early 2000’s rig was stupid. So a 3” lift was installed. I did some minor trimming of the front fender and bashed in the firewall. Next I’ll be removing the sway bar and adding limit straps to save the stock arms. Eventually I want to go with a long travel kit. Any recommendations on the best kit for these sequoias?
