I want to get a solar generator / battery thing like an jackery or one of the other brands.

What’s the best bang for you buck brand?

Just looking to use it for tent camping to power like maybe a fan, lights or even a small heater all night, charge cell phone / tablet things like that.

even used it to power the baja Designs lazer at KOH a few years ago haha.

I have the jackery 300, its a tiny little guy, and its good for charging phones, rc car batteries, etc. I have a tiny 250W heater that I hooked up and the jackery was just about maxed out and lasted about an hour before the battery died. Heaters are basically a dead short on electrical systems and these small portable power stations just cant supply the power. The 1000 watt jackery and other brands with 1000 watts should be much more suited for a heater or a refrigerator.

There are many videos of people putting these power stations to the test with loads connected to them for hours that helped me decide on which one I wanted.

heater wouldnt be the primary need or used for really an all night type thing but i do think a little larger unit would be best. Guess its youtube time and more google time.

My old co worker used an electric blanket in the back of his truck off a car battery. Then he would hook up jumper cables from the truck to recharge the battery the next day. Now he has a solar panel to charge the battery but runs his electric blanket all night

Heated blanket or a diesel heater powered off the battery/jackery is the way to go (from the homework Ive been doing). Theres lots of videos on youtube that go in-depth on making your own diesel heater. Figure youll be roughly $300-$400 into the heater - OR - less than $100 into the heated blanket (and it packs up smaller) lol. Talk to @JosB about his set-up. Dude carries around folding solar panels and extra car batteries to power his various stuff...
