Took a week long trip to Sand Hollow and then shot out to glamis for a day to check out Camp RZR.
The Sand Hollow event was Full Size Invasion. Just a bunch of full size trucks (some not so full size) wheeling SH. My first time to SH and it was great. With massive amounts of traction and steep climbs, rock crawling this place was a blast. Plus it has dunes!
Not many problems to report. My Eaton Elocker gave up about 20 minutes into the trail. So three wheel motion was our mode of transportation. The truck has enough flex to get through all but the hardest obstacles.
While doing an obstacle with generous skinny peddle I think the engine backfire into the intake and blew a vacuum plug off the intake. We ended tapping out due to the engine running extremely poor. Rather get off the trail than stuck on it.
Glamis was a quick 24hrs. Got there Friday afternoon and stayed till Saturday afternoon. Camp rzr is pure chaos and to rail a 8000 pound truck with a bunch of side by sides going in all sorts of direction was pretty unnerving. Went to Oldsmobile Hill Friday night to want the chaos. Ended up pulling a Bronco Raptor out of the dunes with a blown engine. Window in the block. Saturday morning we went back from the hotel and made a rip to duners diner. Got breakfast right near the boarder then heading back to G. I think it’s about 15-20 miles and we cruised at around 70-80 mph there and back. After making it back the truck decided to not want to run very well. After inspection one of the Borla mufflers exploded. Must have plugged up but once clear it sounded horrible but ran a lot better.
Truck did awesome other than the locker and the muffler.
At the end of the day it was an epic trip, met a lot of really great people and can’t wait to get out again!
