Local Legend Not much left Tacoma left... 4500 koh build

Hey buddy! Followed over from IG, be fun to keep eyes on this vs the buried info there. Keep up the good stuff.
Thanks! Ig shows all the cool stuff. The build threads have all the details. If does have all the videos though.
Awesome to see it in the dirt! I have issues with cooling my truck that seem similar to yours. I ran it through chatgpt, which suggested using 70:30 water:coolant, and one bottle of WaterWetter. It said that should be good for 10-30* cooling difference, as the water is the best for cooling, coolant offers corrosion resistance, and WaterWetter reduces surface tension of water, allowing more contact area with the radiator. I don't have to deal with freezing temps, so I'm going to give this a shot.
I do have freezing temps in the winter and it’s been almost below freezing at night lately again. We will see if these fans work. I’ve read about that waterwetter and may try that or just removing the thermostat. Engine tuner thinks it’s a flow problem due to all the restrictions at the fittings

We're running a gutted tstat. -20 lines to a "factory" radiator and fans. I've yet to see above 203/204. Maybe gut the tstat.

-16 lines here with a 31x19 radiator. I think a lot of my issues come from the radiator angle.

Redline performance sells a plug that’s like a thermostat I may try as well. Same cost as a thermostat essentially

Yeah from what I've read -16 is plenty. I just went -20 since my brain made it make sense.
I think you see a substantial decrease in airflow due to the cab vs how open I am. I missed what angle you're mounted at? We're at a touch over 25*

I think it’s 40 or 42*. I’d have to throw an angle finder on to verify.

I don’t think it’s an air flow issue since there’s no windshield. But I think the air is hitting the radiator and due to the angle it’s acting like a wall and air is deflecting off it and out the bottom or sides vs going through the fina
