Yeah the 15-20 year loan is wild, but I bet that’s how most folks are doing it.

I’ve used the company lightstream on a couple trailers now
-I think the highest loan I’ve pulled was like 25-30k on a 4 year plan
So I wasn’t getting big dog motorhome money through them lol

they have a loan calculator on the website so you can see what’s what.

Idk if I want get into a big dog loan lol. There are a lot of motorhomes out there that I like for $150k. I can't see myself getting into a loan that big. Finding something good for $50-$60k and putting $15-$20k down, then financing the rest with some good terms, seems a lot more reasonable.

I have a 2004 32' class A with a v10 that i pull the prerunner with. Its slow but gets the job done. In my opinion, paying cash for a coach and just being able to be out there with the family and friends is all the matters. The 150k diesel pusher may beat me up the hill but who cares ill get there when i get there. Travel day isnt race day lol. Just get something comfortable that meets the space needs of you and the family. At the end of the day, the guy with the payed off used coach is having as much if not more fun than the guy with the 15 year loan on his shiny new rolling turd.

I agree with you 100% travel day isn't a race, and expensive setups don't equal more fun. The more I look into it, the more I think of it in a reliability and safety aspect. I live in the Bay Area, so if I'm going south to the desert, it's a 6-8 hour drive depending on where we go. We're either going over the Tehachapi or the Grapevine. For that matter, if I'm going North, I'm going over Donner Pass, so basically every trip we hit a decent grade. While I don't care about being the first one to the top, I do care about being able to slow down or stop on the way down. Obviously, exhaust brakes or brake controllers are a must. I just can't help but think about how much you're pushing the limits of the motorhome while towing if your trailer weighs more than what the rig is rated for. I did just do a deep dive on GVWR, towing capacity, payload, etc., the other night, so maybe I'm overthinking it a little bit lol
