This is likely a much different post than you're used to. I'm a Canadian that spends most of his free time hanging out in Michigan.

The Upper Peninsula is rich in Copper and Iron Ore Mining history.

The Quincy Stamping Mill and Dredge.

The Mohawk Stamping Mill and Stamp Sands.

I didn't venture too far onto the sands as I was alone and didn't feel like burying the truck.

Apparently the sands are quite toxic and the clean up effort if it ever happens will be massive in both cost and man power.

Lake Superior Performance Rally was also happening to be going on, and I managed to catch the Parc Expose in Marquette and a couple rally stages I didn't get pictures of.

The recent Bad Lines Good Times podcast talked about choosing the right vehicle to cover your needs, it won't be the best at everything, but it'll do what you need it to. This one does exactly that for me.

The right size, comfortable on the highway, fits in a parking garage, it's more offroad capable than I ever likely need it to be and gets semi decent mileage. (Average 22.7mpg on this trip)

This is definitely my last adventuring until spring. Winter hibernation mode is soon to be setting in.

keep the adventures coming !

It’s gorgeous up there! I love exploring old mines and checking out equipment and structures from a bygone era

I got to spend a summer in Sault Ste Marie, MI for work and I couldn’t get enough of being in the UP. One of these days I will be able to get back and get to explore more, feel free to share any pictures

I'm just on the opposite side of the bridge in the other Sault. Definitely lots more to see and do on the Michigan side.

I was out exploring again on this cold and damp day on my side in Northern Ontario.

Fall is over and the snows not that far off, this road used to be a rough snake path but logging in the area has turned the last 3rd of it into a gravel highway.
