This is likely a much different post than you're used to. I'm a Canadian that spends most of his free time hanging out in Michigan.
The Upper Peninsula is rich in Copper and Iron Ore Mining history.
The Quincy Stamping Mill and Dredge.
The Mohawk Stamping Mill and Stamp Sands.
I didn't venture too far onto the sands as I was alone and didn't feel like burying the truck.
Apparently the sands are quite toxic and the clean up effort if it ever happens will be massive in both cost and man power.
Lake Superior Performance Rally was also happening to be going on, and I managed to catch the Parc Expose in Marquette and a couple rally stages I didn't get pictures of.
The recent Bad Lines Good Times podcast talked about choosing the right vehicle to cover your needs, it won't be the best at everything, but it'll do what you need it to. This one does exactly that for me.
The right size, comfortable on the highway, fits in a parking garage, it's more offroad capable than I ever likely need it to be and gets semi decent mileage. (Average 22.7mpg on this trip)
This is definitely my last adventuring until spring. Winter hibernation mode is soon to be setting in.
If you want to see more photos of my adventures on both sides of the border around Lake Superior let me know.
